Our first sale of 2019 will be conducted at the large. elegant, award winning Cliffside Inn. Built in 1876 by Maryland Governor Thomas Swann and serving as the first home to ST George's Preparatory School form 1897-1901 the full history of the inn can be read using this link, https://www.cliffsideinn.com/history-of-cliffside/ .
The current owners of Cliffside Inn have sold the business to a luxury boutique hotel group. While the new owners will be keeping some of the items within the inn ( artwork, smalls and most armoires and chests will not be available at this sale ) they will be redecorating thus making 16 elegantly decorated rooms available for this sale. Not only a collection of13 queen and king bedsteads, but custom memory foam mattress and boxspring as well as all the bedside tables and chest, 2 (3/4 and full sz)convertible sofas, all linens incl. towels, custom bed scarves, shams, throw pillows, window treatments and bedspreads. All the lighting incl. several pair of sconces, numerous chandeliers and flush mount fixtures. There are also over 15 televisions, mostly Toshiba 24″ and some 19″with built in DVD players and a collection of over 100 classic movie DVDs. There are 10 folding track bistro sets and other outdoor furniture. The parlor and library furniture include: a set of 4 Beidermeier dining chairs, a square oak Victorian dining table with 2 leaves, a down 3 cushion sofa, 2 tufted loveseats, French style arm chairs, a large mirrored back buffet, Laurel Crown reproduction loveseat and tub chairs with carved swans book stands, nesting tables and all the carpets in the house are available for sale.
