Limited Guarantee: Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, Bert Gallery Studio Sales does offer a limited guarantee that works offered for sale are not counterfeit. A counterfeit for this purpose is defined as a modern fake or forgery that was made with the intent to deceive. If a buyer gives us notice within 14 days of the sale that an item that was purchased is counterfeit and provides a written report from an authority that demonstrates that the item is indeed counterfeit and that a fair reading of the catalogue description and the auctioneer's statements at the time of the sale did not indicate this, then Bert Gallery Studio Sales will rescind the sale and refund the purchase price to the buyer. This guarantee is made only to the original buyer (i.e. registered bidder) and does not extend to any subsequent purchasers. In any event, any liability that Bert Gallery Studio Sales has for such a sale is limited to the purchase price of the item sold. Any items that are not picked up within ten (10) business days after the completion of the auction will be subject to a handling and storage fee of 3% of the purchase price. This fee will be assessed monthly. We assume no risk or responsibility for items that are left on our premises after the sale or that are transferred to our warehouse. Reserves: Some lots carry reserves or minimum selling prices. This is a confidential figure set by the consignor below which the item will not be sold. The reserve will not always be less than (or equal to) our low estimate for the lot. The Live Auctioneers clerk will execute reserve bids as in-house bids. Estimates: All pre-sale estimates of the value of the lots are intended only as guides for potential bidders. Our pre-sale estimates may not be relied upon by anyone as a prediction of the selling price or the fair market value of any lot. The actual selling price may differ greatly from our estimates. Description & Details

This summer auction brings together works from four private estates, each assembled by lifetime collectors who championed both New England artists and nationally recognized figures. Presenting works from across four estates creates rich and varied offerings, ranging from oil paintings, works on paper and photography. For over 40 years, Bert Gallery has served as a trusted source for the stewardship and placement of both artists' and private collectors estates. Every work in this auction has been researched and catalogued in a museum-style format, providing collectors with the information needed to make confident and informed decisions. The auction includes works by women artists, Rhode Island-based artists, painters associated with Newbury Street galleries in Boston, as well as modernists, New England marine artists, and many other works of regional interest.
