Final Cataloging Authority: The Auction House retains absolute and final editorial control over all lot titles, descriptions, attributions, estimates, and reserves. If upon physical inspection the Auction House, in its sole professional judgment, determines that any item described by the Consignor as an original work is a reproduction, modern copy, or "after" print, the Auction House shall catalog the item under strict "After [Artist]" guidelines.
All lots are sold AS IS and without recourse and neither Charleston Estate Services nor its consignor(s) makes any warranties or representations, express or implied with respect to such lots. Neither Charleston Estate Services nor its consignor(s) makes any express or implied warranty or representation of any kind or nature with respect to merchantability, fitness for purpose, correctness of the catalogue or other description of the physical condition, size, quality, rarity, importance, medium, material, genuineness, attribution, provenance, period, culture, source, origin, exhibitions, literature or historical significance of any lot sold. The absence of any reference to the condition of a lot does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Auctioneers Discretion:
The auctioneer can at his or her sole option:
(a) Charleston Estate Services has the right, at our complete discretion, to refuse
admission to the premises or participation in any auction and to reject any bid.
(b) move the bidding backwards or forwards in any way he or she may decide, or
change the order of the lots;
(c) withdraw any lot;
(d) divide any lot or combine any two or more lots;
(e) reopen or continue the bidding even after the hammer has fallen;
(f) in the case of error or dispute related to bidding and whether during or after the auction, continue the bidding, determine the successful bidder, cancel the sale of the lot, or re offer and resell any lot.
