This is the living estate sale of a very gracious, beautiful Southern woman having incredible taste and a distinctive eye for fine antiques, design, art and so much more!!!
Her husband, retired Air Force, passed this year and she has sold her home and is moving even further south to be closer to her sons and their families. The family had traveled all over the world and had lived in many places throughout the United States. These travels afforded her and her husband the opportunity to purchase many fine, unique and beautifully kept antiques and other decorative items.
Each piece has a story to tell and we will try to relay as much as we know about each one, but some of the nicest things include a Mahogany Bedroom set from the Dodge Estate featuring the Double Bed, Nightstand, Dresser, Chest on Chest and two Mirrors. There is also a very fine 18th Century English Sheraton Tall Mahogany Secretary with Bookcase. Then there is the not to be outdone, a French Art Nouveau/Rococo Solid Walnut Bedroom set featuring the classic asymmetric acanthus decoration on top of both the queen bed and mirror front armoire. Let's not forget about the Victorian Walnut Half Tester Bed Signed M.R. (Mitchell & Rammelsberg), "a true antebellum treasure". One more noteworthy piece and a Charleston SC original, is a 19th Century Mahogany Butler's Desk featuring burled wood on the drop down front.
