Welcome to the home of Jim and Darlinda (Linda) Woodard. This has been a very unique home for me to help on. Some may call it a hoarders house (of only the finest quality items and clothing).. but I see it differently.. I see this as a house of dreams. A Love Story!
Mrs. Woodard always wanted the best for her children, husband and family and she did her very best for them. A creative person by nature she decorated this home and yard extravagantly, owned the best china, nicest furniture, 100's of pieces of costume and fine jewelry (many already sold in other estate sales I brought them to), fine Christmas and holiday décor and also the finest clothing. There were a huge amount of games for her children to play with, and both parents encouraged them to be the best they could be from an early age.
But with all love stories hardships do happen. Miss Darlinda became ill and though it was a slow progression it eventually took her from her family. She dreamed of getting better, dreamed of the life she had and how she wanted everyone to be special to her as she needed them to make her special to them. She started in local fine stores but then became more immobile and ended up shopping from QVC and HSN. Most items never left their packages or bags, price tags remained un-removed due to her being unable to wear them.. but still she dreamed and loved until her last days.
Mr. Jim loved his wife with every breath and every one of the 100's of greeting cards he sent her throughout his years (while in the military (Korea era) and during their frequent moves even overseas to Britain and the such spoke of his love explicitly. Through his many years of working at the Post Office he thought only of her... when she passed he never allowed his children to remove any of their moms treasures.. and they had not until he passed a few years after her.
This house was incredibly full of beautiful items, wildly brave but tasteful in their styles, and displayed the obvious love and respect their children had for their parents in that they also waited to have the house cleared out until it became a necessity.
Respect this home, these people, these items as they were purchased and saved with an open loving heart.
It has been an honor to work with this family.
Thanks bob
Please note the mid-century modern bedroom suite that needs a good cleaning of the blossoms of mildew still on them as this room was shut off for many, many years. We have a few jewelry items of gold and silver as well as fine costume for sale. They are not kept in the home until sale hours. The clothing is also in many of the closets.. most were in bags and many hanging items were covered. The mildew smell does wash out.
Thank you for using EstateSales.NET. You're the best!
