Phyllis was a lifelong early childhood educator. Ken was an industrial engineer who designed and oversaw the construction of the multilevel "Dream Home" where they lived for 54 years. Its high beam ceilings, ample wall space and 70's color scheme intentionally complimented Ken's acquired hunting/fishing trophies from Ohio, VA, FL, TN, WY, CO, Canada and Alaska. His passion for hunting/fishing is represented in a variety of offered tackle, rods, jackets, hats, books and vintage decorative items. In the early 70's, Ken's engineering career took him to the Bahamas and Haiti where he purchased several native carvings, a painting and where he scuba dive for a collection of coral/ shells, all of which are being offered.
Much of the original Midcentury Modern furniture is in the auction including a Sculptra Broyhill dining room table/chairs & hutch, executive desk, set of china, end tables, kitchen table with 4 swivel chairs, lamps, bar stools, and a master bedroom set. Ken was also a photographer and carpenter which is reflected in items offered in the house, garage & woodworking shop. The woodworking shop includes Lots of Craftsman tools, antique planes, saws, power tools & more!!!
Ken switched careers midlife and became the owner of a boat store named Tri Marine City. This led to his passion for teaching safe community boating classes via the Power Squadron and becoming an active member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary where he was known for his expertise as a navigation instructor. Therefore, there are numerous marine related items offered in the auction including a 1985 23 ft Chris Craft Cruiser with an inboard/outboard Mercruiser engine with an EZ loader trailer, boat/ motor-related tools, Mercury manuals, advertising signs, mechanic uniforms, jackets and hats!
