One of the most anticipated estate sales ever held in the region is coming to historic Ledford Mill this June, offering the public a rare opportunity to acquire treasures from the lifelong collection of beloved local resident John Spear.

Spear, who passed away in February, was known throughout the community as the longtime steward of Ledford Mill, one of the area's most recognizable landmarks. Nestled beside a picturesque waterfall and surrounded by a historic mill, cabin, and barn, the property has long been admired by visitors and locals alike.

Now, family, friends, collectors, and treasure hunters alike will have the opportunity to purchase items from a collection decades in the making.

This is truly a sale like none other. John had an incredible eye for unique antiques, collectibles, and historical pieces. Every room is filled with remarkable treasures and fascinating discoveries.

The first phase of the estate sale will feature the contents of the cabin and main home and includes an extraordinary selection of antique furniture, antique games from around the world, vintage toys, artwork, silver, pottery, rugs, linens, and countless one-of-a-kind collectibles.

Highlights include a huge antique toy collection, antique furniture, primitives, linens, an extensive nesting doll collection, a large whistle collection, Noah's Ark collectibles, polar bear collectibles, Jack Daniel's memorabilia, Christmas decorations, lacquer boxes, antique silver serving pieces, sterling silver, and much more.

(All sterling silver, and valuable collectibles have been moved off site until the day of the sale. Home is monitored by multiple security cameras, as well as people staying here until the sale date.)

For many in the community, the sale represents more than just an opportunity to shop. John Spear was a friend to many and a familiar face throughout the area. Organizers hope visitors will see the event as a chance to take home a special memento that reflects a life well lived and a legacy that touched countless people.
