This Mid-century home was built in 1951 by a prominent Austin architect as his personal home. It is still contains many of the original furniture purchased when the home was new. There is a Danish Modern Chair and Cart, 2 1950's Bedroom sets one of which is by Drexel. There is a Drexel Dining Table and 6 Chairs and a Mid-Century buffet. The end tables and coffee tables are Tempo by Lane. There is a mid-century sofa and matching love seat. There are absolutely fantastic lamps. There are assorted '50's chests and tables as well as a set of DKX Wire Side Chairs by Herman Miller designed by Eames. There is a round country Kitchen table and 6 chairs, 2 primitive tables and an armchair and rocking chair.
We have Sterling and Silverplate, Crystal Glassware and Decanters, Modern Pottery and Art Pottery including Rookwood, Cut Glass and colored glass and European Porcelain Figurines and other items. The books include a large collection of Texana. Signed copies of LBJ and Barbara Jordan Autobiographies. Porfirio Salinas by Goddard signed by her and Dewey Bradford. Ephemera includes WWI patriotic sheet music and many local items from the '60s. There are some fishing items, a WWII Navy uniform and Lieutenant Jr. Grade bars and a '60's Cub Scout Uniform. The Costume Jewelry includes pieces by Weiss and Eisenberg. There are lovely table linens. There is a Belleek tea set and Original Art.
There is a full kitchen including a freestanding butcher block. There are hand tools and outdoor tools. There is a fridge and a washer dryer.
