We have followed the Relic Bird Road to the home of Howard Evans and his wife Mary.  Howard is from Missouri but he is a true source of Texas history beginning as a UMHB grad and then entering ino the army air core in the 40’s, later a TAC squadron instructor pilot/squadron ops officer in Thailand and acquiring over 20 years of flight experience serving our country in the Air Force.  Many of his other life achievements include high level rankings in the Masonic community, 18 years with TxDot and becoming a master wood turner; a passion that was ignited during his early days in the boy scouts as evidenced by his merit badges in woodworking and carpentry.  Mary was the epitome of an officer’s wife, putting a high priority on her home and entertaining as we found in her extensive and beautiful collection of vintage to modern party ware.  She kept a beautiful yard of plants and flowers and made sure the lawn service men has fresh baked cookies every week.
