Ikuko “Koko” Fujiyama Moore
Ikuko “Koko” Fujiyama Moore was born in Tokyo Japan in 1929.
Her father was an executive with the Mitsubishi Corporation and at the time of WW2 her family was living in Korea.
Koko remembers sewing camouflage covers for the Japanese planes in school.
Her talent as an artist was apparent from her earliest days as a child. She has always created art. She received some brief formal training and studied art in her teens.
Not only a stand out in her ability to paint, Koko was also an accomplished and award winning long distance swimmer and speed skater. Her love of physical activity spilled over to dance and she has competed competitively for many years.
She was a telephone operator and Red Cross volunteer at the USAF base in Tokyo and met her husband Robert there. They made a striking match and enjoyed many happy years together raising their family.
Her incredible outlook of peace and happiness allows her to see and capture the beauty in all things and people. Koko is praying that those who attend are greatly blessed.
