This is the Gilbert and Alberta Wieland Estate
Mr. Wieland was a tool collector. He beautifully refinished furniture, recaned chairs, loved to fish and was always fixing something.
Mrs. Wieland was always making something. She sewed her own clothes, her daughter and granddaughter's clothes, made doll clothes, crocheted, embroidered, tatted and quilted. She was a math teacher at Crain Middle School in Victoria for 18 years. After she retired she learned to paint. She also was a charter member of Heirloom Stitchers Guild in Cuero.
This is a sweet sale.
When I first saw this house it took me back in time to my grandmother's, where cane seating, oak tables and good solid wood furniture were the norm.
Of course now that we are working in the garage, barn and workshop we want to wear our boots, because after all we are in the country!
