You know it's going to be a great week when we have 3 estate sales! Our 3rd sale finds us in the Deep Ellum studio of Native American artist Merle Tech. Born in South Dakota, he was the owner of Techniques Studio and saw art in everything around him...designing furniture that resembled downtown Dallas buildings and furniture for Margaret Thatcher's son. Part industrial design studio and part man cave, to describe this sale as eclectic would be an understatement!!! You'll find tree slices, wood pieces, handmade wood wine bottle ladders, car doors, bicycle parts, layered wood, metal...fossils, axe heads, rocks of all sizes, sliced quartz piece, granite...turtle shells, snake skins and fur pelts. Cowhide, leather pieces, antlers, skulls, horns, feathers...buttons and beads (shell, clay, wood, bone and turquoise), yard art and sculptures. Vintage items: oscillating fans and fan covers, old black phone, walnut dresser drawers, luggage, doorknobs, hardware, old typewriters (Royal, Woodstock, Remington) and metal stands. Potato chip stand, cast iron fireplace inserts, slag glass oval lightshade, shoe shine boxes and brushes, Western flyer bicycle, old footlocker and an old wire clothes basket. Also, Native American based art using guns, turtle shell, longhorns and skulls...selection of Dream Catchers. Don't miss the big one!
Huge supply of tools and materials! Rockwall band saw, Shop Fox disc sander and arm saw, Craftsman radial saw, Delta wood lathe...Ryobi 10" table saw, Jet Bench planer, portable air compressor, Porter cable and CII pneumatic tools...arc and acetylene welders, welding tools and masks, gauges. Industrial exhaust fans (one is Max Air), floor fans, metal pulleys and hoist equipment...towing chains, electrical outlet boxes, clamps of all types and sizes. Some of the unusual furniture pieces include the mine cart inspired table base and the Danish modern arm chair (SD Grand Rapids).
