UPDATE: We’re making great progress with organizing and displaying this sale. It’s not quite going to be the digger sale I had previously thought. I’ve posted some additional photos to prove it!

We have a quickie sale for you this weekend. Because Easter is this Sunday, we are altering our usual schedule and beginning this sale on THURSDAY.

A long time friend of ours who became, quite by accident, the executor of the estate of an old friend asked us to help settle the estate by holding a sale. The house in the Hillside area of Dallas, a great little Mid Century house, was largely abandoned 20 years ago when the lady in question’s husband died and she went to live in their lake house and travel the world. We were told, Oh there’s not going to be much in the sale. Well….that turned out to be quite untrue. When her collections of art, clocks, copper and brass, wicker furniture and this that and the other were all brought back into Dallas…. Well, the house is PACKED. There is precious little space for our usually well organized sale. A lot of digging may be required from you.  But you like that, don’t you? I certainly hope so. They were a very handsome couple who lived in Nice, France, and El Salvador where his work for Texas Instruments took them. They had remarkable taste and lived a full life. Come see what they collected and she left behind.

125 LPs Good condition. Lots of singers from the 50s/60s: Johnny Mathis, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis, Jr., Dakota Staton, Nancy Wilson, Morgan’s King, the Hi-Los etc etc 

AKAI, Gerrard, Masterworks and JVC electronics including turntable and reel to reel tape recorder

13 pieces of wicker including sofas, chairs (both straight leg and rockers,) tables, an antique pram, mirrors. Great style and in excellent condition

2 cane back sofas with cushions

52 clocks. Yes 52. Big ones, tiny ones, carriage clocks, German wooden wall clocks, mantle clocks and a fabulous one painted red with inlaid mother of pearl
