Grace United Methodist Church presents the Janie and Riley Miller Estate Sale at the Miller house. 2 days only. Friday and Saturday, February 27, 28. 10 am- 5pm both days. All household contents including vintage upright piano, living, dining, bedroom furniture, kitchen, home office, washer, dryer.
Lots of photo ephemera, vintage scrapbooks, jewelry, studio pottery, vintage children’s toys from the 1940’s and 1950’s.
Photo ephemera includes large collection of 1920’s, 1930’s Simmons University in Abilene (now Hardin Simmons). Also large collection of 1930’s through 1960’s Dallas high schools, particularly North Dallas High School, sports photos and articles. Some 1970’s Cowboy football stuff including an inscribed and signed 1971 Roger Staubach photo and a 1971 NFL World Championship cowboy logo Elgin watch presented to Rufus Hyde, legendary North Dallas High School football coach from 1936-1969, and who worked in the Cowboy’s front office during the 1970’s. 1971 was the year the Cowboys organization won their first Super Bowl.
Also ephemera from Lookout Mountain Camp, Alpine Camp, and De Soto Camp, all located in the Lookout Mountain area that borders Tennessee and Alabama, from the 1940’s to present day.
Besides the 1971 NFL World Championship watch, jewelry includes a large beautiful vintage Native American sandcast silver cross with inset turquoise and silver beads.
6 artisan made side chairs for dining made by Gary Weeks and Company in Wimberley, Texas. Purchased in 1999 for $4,4950, still being made today and selling new currently for $8,280.
