Just Let Lynn Do It!
Description & Details
Our sale takes us south this week to an Oak Cliff neighborhood with beautiful trees, cul-de-sacs and surprising treasures. Entering the house you find to your left, the step-down leading to the dining area. Art from original to prints surround mid-century modern formica pieces. Pottery, pewter, brass and glass are found throughout the room. Don’t overlook the mid-century buffet with silverware drawer by Drexel.
The kitchen offers the standard fare with some unique gadgets here and there. Among the small appliances are a Nesco 12qt Roaster Oven, a bread maker and an electric food warmer just to mention a few. The breakfast area offers beautiful crystal, a set of green depression glass plates, eye-catching carnival glass and various serving pieces. A “must see” is the set of Blue Willow by Johnson Brothers and the set of Block Spal Portugal “Watercolors” by Mary Lou Goertzen. Although you may not be thinking about Christmas items, now is the time to get a great deal on the set of “Christmastime” by Nikko Japan.
The living area holds an assortment of treasures; something for everyone. Gamers will love the assortment of vintage Atari items: an 800, a 130X, joysticks with a few games mixed in. There is even a dot matrix serial impact printer (model 8510A). Along with the CDs and great assortment of 8-track tapes, music enthusiast will find a Sansui Integrated Amplifier AU-717, a Bell Stereophonic 3030, several Denon components and a restored pair of Infinity speakers. Don’t miss the speakers & amps Keef AR Bose. Joggers and cyclist will find a Mountain Buggy Urban sitting next to the Cycle Ops. Collecting owls? This room is for you. On the wall hangs “Brooklyn Bridge” a print by Bernard Buffet. Not all “finds” are at eye level as there is an assortment on rugs to be found.
The sunroom showcases a wonderful set of wicker furniture. There is even a great wicker Peacock chair. Original artwork and prints adorn the walls with decoratives scattered about. The adjoining bedroom is where the assortment of collectable dolls live. There are Pixy Styx and Madame Alexander waiting to go home with you. Original photographs can be found, eye catching and beautifully framed. Looking for small, empty jewelry boxes? You will them here.
The Upstairs rooms are certainly well worth the climb! Camera equipment, from vintage to new, are there in the common area shared with the books. The second bedroom is where the sports memorabilia shares space with the Christmas collectables. Assorted collectable and “must have” items wait on the built-in counter to be discovered. Did you see the vintage poker chips? They are next to the jar of marbles and the Jax! Remember them?
Down the hall is the master suite where you can find sheets, blankets and towels. Walking through the bathroom takes you to the master closet. Clothing by Eddie Bauer and labels offered by QVC are here. Most were new in package, having never been worn. New and very gently worn ladies’ shoes (most size 7 ½) fill the closet floor. Also here is a wedding dress and great assortment of men’s suits. Looking for a letter jacket? There is one from T.W. Browne Junior High and one from Justin F. Kimball High School.
