Description & Details
When Art and his crew put together a fun sale, they go all out. This week’s sale has all the buzz words that really get them excited for a sale – Baker, Henredon, Baccarat, Waterford, Royal Doulton, Councill Craftsmen, Maitland-Smith.
Now, for some people those may not get the adrenaline going like it does for the die-hard estate sale shoppers, but this sale, though in a relatively small bungalow, has all the makings of a FUN sale. The owner is moving to Santa Fe and has taken some things but Fred and I couldn’t figure out what of significance other than a couple of sofas and some beds. I guess the life-style and size of accommodations out there necessitated leaving so much of what some of us will continue to cherish. The highlights include:
- Daum, Baccarat, Waterford, Swarovski and other collectibles, glassware, lamps, etc.
- Three sets of china including Royal Doulton, Wedgwood and Phillipe Deshoulieres
- A great French styled crystal chandelier
- Baker armoire, Maitland-Smith accent tables and desks
- Henredon dining table with matching lighted china display cabinet and 10 chairs
- Decorative and collectible artwork (including one of the blue dog series)
- Lamps
- Kitchen items and collectibles
- Oil paintings as well as signed-and-numbered pieces
- Oriental carpets and other serviceable carpet
- Holiday decorations for Halloween, Hanukah, Christmas, Patriotic Holidays, etc – quite an
- nexpected combination
- Pottery and accent or decorative service ware
- POLISHED silver-plate service and serving pieces (the maid did it, not Art)
- Costume jewelry
- Clothing, accessories, purses, shoes
- Hartmann and Tumi luggage
- Yard and patio decorative pots, art, planters, urns, etc.
- Books
- Orientalia (both new, reproduction and some older)
- Copper kitchen pots and pans
- Shelving, racks, service and garage items
- Chairs in pairs and singles
- Waterford Lismore balloon, tall goblets, waters, etc.
- Waterford Millennium toasting flutes, coasters, vases, bowls
This sale had one other thing that both Fred and I noticed —- IT IS SUPER CLEAN!! Art even mentioned that there should not be much left at the end of this sale for the charity to pick up because EVERYTHING IS EXTREMELY SALEABLE. Just like in the old days, something for everyone and lots of happy buyers.
The one thing that we did notice was that this is on one of those narrow University Park streets so Art asks that all be aware of the neighbors’ driveways and don’t block the drives or the passage on the street.
