The tally is complete. Tony’s estate sale this weekend has just made the Guinness World Records Book for extreme collecting. Yes, the homeowner LOVED to collect – everything from rocks ... to coins ... to model airplanes (even ones autographed by the likes of astronaut, Chuck Yeager) ... to anything and everything Marilyn Monroe (dolls, pin-ups, calendars, etc.) and country singer Barbara Mandrell (album covers and tour jackets) ... to every known issue of Playboy Magazine (except for one). He even went to all the trouble to get centerfold playmates to autograph his magazines. One of the prize possessions in the entire house is an autographed photograph of Sally Rand, an American burlesque dancer and actress, most noted for her ostrich feather fan dance and balloon bubble dance. Her career dates back to the ‘30's. Here’s another interesting point regarding Tony’s sale – he had to bring in a geologist to help identify rare pieces of the homeowner’s massive rock collection. Turns out he had baryte and sphalerite, chalcopyrite galena and dolomite, apophyllite, calcite, amethyst, quartz, geodes and more. With so much to see, you know Fred would pick out some nondescript box to investigate. So happens this one was filled with a large collection of smoking pipes. There’s lots to see so let’s get started with out list ...
