Estate Sale – “Lake Highlands” Dallas

  This week we have an eclectic Estate Sale in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas.  This sale is packed with an interesting mix of vintage to current items.  We have clothing mostly for women (small and medium sizes) including a nice assortment of leather clothing, shoes, purses, and jewelry - along with a modest number of men’s items.  There is some nice bedding including handmade quilts, table linens, crocheted throws, and doilies.  The LEGO collection includes hundreds of mint or near mint pre-owned and brand new sets (If “U” open ‘em “U” buy ‘em!).  The kitchen is overflowing with small appliances, dishes, pots, pans, and baking items.  We have a great assortment of hand tools, power tools, lawn and garden tools, ladders, a lawn mower, a leaf mulcher, a workbench, and storage shelves.  There are over 1,000 CD’s, some DVD’s, and a grand selection of record albums (over 500), so come early for best selection.  We’ll limit the number of people in the house and will distribute sequential numbers to those who are waiting to enter.  Thanks for your patience!

  Entry / Dining Room / Checkout Area – features a Duncan Phyfe China cabinet which houses a set of vintage china green depression era glasses and some silver plate.  There is a lot of silver plate throughout this room suitable for the holidays.  The Duncan Phyfe pedestal table comes with one leaf and four matching chairs.  We have a small lighted buffet which houses a nice set of vintage china and some nice ruby red vintage glasses in various sizes.  The dining table has a wide variety of items from crystal glasses and goblets to green depression era hard to find pieces.  We have a vintage glass lamp with shade and some nice vintage figurines and hanging three dimensional items along with some sets of plated flatware.  There is also a nice pair of Victorian Parlor chairs in light green crushed velveteen in excellent condition. We have lots of interesting jewelry from multiple containers of pins some vintage earrings, nice rhinestone earrings, necklaces, and some nice watches (new or have new batteries). We also have some sterling jewelry items and rings along with a tray of costume Christmas jewelry and a dish of pins.  We also have some small boxes that are musical (great stocking stuffers) and some nice blown glass ornaments.  For your parties, we have some very nice beaded small bags.  We have lots of nice table clothes and some napkins.  There is also an imitation tall green and flower tree, a pair of columns and a great side table with coffee server (great for the holidays) there are also a few decanters along with an aluminum ice bucket.  We also have a vintage fur cape and lots of nice collectable plates.  We have a vintage flute with a case, lots of nice crystal items, and a china set from England.  Come early for the best selection.

  Kitchen / Eating Area / Panty – features (in the large pantry) lots of vintage (large to small) glass serving bowls, plates and coasters.  There are cake plates and olive plates, hurricanes, canisters set, vintage china bowls, and pitchers.  We have a vintage 8-sided table with glass top and four upholstered chairs with casters.  We have a vintage pink and off-white dish set from the late 40’s or early 50’s in great condition with serving pieces.  This house has lots of plates, so look for them in each room.  There in a nice modern table with cross bars in the corner along with a vintage two-shelf serving cart that house lots of small appliances.  Note small appliances have been tested.  We have another tall green tree in the corner of the kitchen.  There is a butter churner and a medium size crock (good for making pickles).  We have two pump coffee servers and a thermos for a beverage.  The small appliances include a large George Forman Grill, a rice cooker, a basic blender, a popcorn machine, a nice bread-maker with manual, a vintage toaster, a waffle maker, and more.  We have some multi-color serving dishes with cover and a wire server.  There are some nice trays and some interesting cups and saucers.  We have some Corning Ware with covers and server.  There are flatware sets and some knives along with kitchen gadgets.  We have assorted pots and pans along with trays, casserole bowls, and Pyrex dishes.

  Living Room – features a plaid loveseat and matching couch in good condition.  There is a nice set of Christmas dishes on a great wood coffee table.  We have a nice round table with a marble removable top.  There is also a nice floor lamp with a small glass table and nice lamp with shade (BNI).  We have a great wood armless chair with hand painted back that turns into a small step stool.  There is a very nice pink blossom tree in the corner with nice floor lamp with floral shade (BNI).  We have a great a vintage arm chair with blue upholstery.  We also have another interesting arm chair with rattan sides.  Both of these vintage chairs are in excellent condition.  There is nice side table with cross bars at the bottom with a nice lamp and shade (BNI).  We have a nice Christmas tree with multi-colored lights, a small vintage foot stool with fabric top, and another all wood foot stool.  The fireplace mantle has an awesome collection of frogs (really cute and unusual) along with some vases, plates, and coffee table books, along with a great set of fireplace tools.  We have many collectable plates and several lamps here as well.  We have a nice round vintage side table and more coffee table books and plates.  

  Office – features built in book cases with lots of books including fiction, history, children’s books, bibles, “how to” books for the home, and gardening and landscaping books.  We have another large tree with pink flowers and a container of jewelry-making beads.  We have assorted wall items as well.  There is a nice vintage table with a nice lamp with shade (BNI).  There is a great roll-top desk with key @ check-out.  We also have a wood two-drawer filing cabinet.  There are some office supplies as well. There are more lamps in this room including a nice table lamp with shade (BNI) and a vintage Victorian style lamp (BNI).  Remember to come early for the best selection.

  Double Size Family Room – features two large racks and one table of LEGO sets.    The LEGO Collection includes hundreds of mint or near mint, new and pre-owned sets.  Most of the LEGO sets are Collectable Rare Retired sets.  More than half are “New in the Box” or are New in Polybag.  Limited Edition Star Wars May 4th and TRU Bricktober Sets.  LEGO themes include Star Wars, Creator, Batman, DC Comics, Marvel, Technic, Friends, Super Heroes, Bionicle, City, Exo-Force, Ideas, Lord of the Rings, Holiday Sets, Chima, Ninjago, Disney, Architecture, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ultra Agents, Elves and The Lego Movie, Avengers, Thor, Spider-Man, . Set sizes range from 20 pieces to sets with more than 4,000 pieces.  Highlighted sets Include:  70810, 10236, 71040, 76052, 75098, 70912, 7721, 60036, 76038, 70146, 60097, and 42037.  LEGO themes will appeal to collectors of Buildings, Vehicles, Animals, Cars, Fantasy, Star Wars, Disney, Ninjas, Seasonal, and Space.  Please note regarding new LEGO sets:  (If “U” open ‘em, “U” buy em!).

  We have a great wood buffet in nice condition, and it would make a great storage and display piece.  We have displayed on this buffet a nice assortment of milk glass items.  We also have a great sewing cabinet with a power motor that bring the machine up to the flat surface.  The sewing machine is a white Sewing Machine model 2222.  It has a booklet that explains the machine.  There is a good amount of sewing notions that are displayed on the work surface plus a large box with bagged sewing items.  If you are looking for thread, buttons and supplies, we have them.  We have a nice Mid-Century Modern table that has hidden leaves.  We have the table displayed with the leaves extended.  There is a small square side table under this table that needs a new glass insert.  There is a child’s size padded rocker with arms and a frameless mirror standing up against the wall.  We have a vintage Tasco Refractor Telescope [circa 1966] (more parts inside the original box) with tripod.  We have depression pink glass items and green items on the Mid-Century table.  If you are a collector, come early for the best selection.  There is a nice computer desk (great for the kid’s room).  On the desk we have displayed lots of unusual brass items and a nice collection of blue and white items.  We have a box of craft items near the desk.  There is a nice spinet piano made by Etsey of New York with matching bench.  

Estey Piano Corp. was established in 1869 by Jacob Estey, Levi Fuller, Julius Estey and John Boulton Simpson.  Simpson controlled the Arion Piano Co. and with this partnership, its name was changed to the Estey Piano Co.  A large factory was built in New York City where production of upright and grand pianos began.  In 1917 Estey was purchased by George W. Gittens, and later by B.K. Settergren in 1935, with production moving to Bluffton, Indiana.  In 1978 the Estey rights and designs were purchased by Jack Call.  In 1982 the factory was struck by lightning and totally destroyed by the fire.  Estey pianos are no longer in production.

  We have a large stereo cabinet in nice condition.  The stereo cabinet has two roll out shelves and some drawers.  There is a Sharp bookshelf AM/FM radio stereo system that plays MP3 CD’s (remote at checkout).  We also have a Garrard Turn Table, a Techniques SL-P370 Compact DISC Player, a DUAL CS-1254 Turntable, and DUAL 1225 Turntable.  We also have a pair of Advent Speakers.  If you are a collector of Train sets we have an American Flyer Lines Train Set which includes:  car 962 Hamilton, a car 960 Columbus and a car 960 Washington.  We have approximately 60 pieces of track including straight and curved, two transformers, House, Bridges, Big Bridge, Billboard, Coupler, Whistle, Track Switch, Oil Well, Comet Engine and cars (4), Service kit and lights.  We have a vintage school desk made of wood and wrought iron with ink well hole and storage.  We have a pedestal table with one leaf and four Naugahyde chairs in navy blue with brads.  We have a medium blue upholstered recliner.  We have a “mamma-son” Chair with matching foot hassock.  We have two Rattan and wood couches with floral print fabric cushions (there are three seat and three back cushions) and they both have two matching throw pillows.  These couches are awesome and very solid.  We have more than 500 - 33 RPM records (vinyl) and more than 150 - 45 RPM records.  We also have more books (including cookbooks) on these shelves.  There are a lot of knick-knacks on the shelves including candles, and Christmas items.  We also have over 1,000 CD’s and over 100 DVD’s in great condition (some are new) still wrapped.  We have a Christmas tree decorated with animals (sold separately).  There is a Doll high-chair made of wood and a child’s rocking chair.  We also have Christmas items that are boxed and distributed around this large room.  Come early in order to get the best selection on the items that you are interested in.

  Utility Room – features a nice Microwave oven table on casters with double doors (for storage) and a shallow shelf.  We have baking pans and cookie sheets.  There is an assortment of plastic containers and a picnic basket and some oven mitts and hot pads.  We have an assortment of vintage and new aprons.  Some are half aprons and some are full.

  Patio – features a birdbath, a great variety of planters from plastic to larger ceramic and clay pots.  We have a nice lounge chair a three-seat swing on an “A” Frame.  It requires new pads and a cover.  We have a wrought iron 4-piece set painted green.  It has a love seat, two chairs, and a table.  There is a wheelbarrow and lots of Christmas wreaths.  We have some live potted plants and a 20-foot extension ladder.  There are also 24 totes with covers.  We have a milk can, and a three-tiered two-piece plant display.  We are using it to display the collection of frog ornaments that we gathered from this yard.  We also have a large iron Cauldron.  Be sure to come early for the best selection.

  Workshop – features a many interesting well-maintained items.  We have metal file boxes and cabinets.  There is a vintage farm table with metal top and drawer.  We have a spreader, a 6-foot wooden ladder, and some garden tools.  We have hoses, two edgers, and two leaf blowers, gas cans, extension cords, and storage shelves.  There are filters, paint rollers, and brushes, a fishing net, pans, folding chairs, and coolers.  We have a Craftsman 10-inch radial arm saw with extras.  It’s been well maintained.  We have a wooden chair, some porcelain pails, and wicker basket with cover, trophies, brass pot, Christmas center pieces and cassette tape storage drawers / units.  We have aluminum tubs, sprinkler cans, new hose, hose caddy, vintage grinder and tackle or tool box.  There is an indoor outdoor Vac, Troy-Bilt Chipper / Shredder Hose –Vacuum with 159cc Engine 5.5 HP engine with 2 Bushel capacity heavy-duty bag.  We also have a chain saw 2.5 HP motor and 16” blade.  We also have a nice vintage wood box, vintage roller skates and tree trimmer.  We also have a Craftsman Gold Lawn Mower with a 6.75 HP Briggs & Stratton Engine.  We have a Skil Saw with carry case and accessories, a Delta Grinder, a nice Circular Saw, and assorted hand tools.  There are lawn and garden chemicals, booms, rakes, and shovels, along with a bicycle pump.  We even have some cute novelty toys that are new, top hats and batons along with bow ties (dance routine).  Finally, we have some board games: Trivial Pursuit, Sequence, Checkers, Poker Set and more.  We have a good amount of Pictures frames, a fan on a stand and a large section of peg board full of all sorts of hand tools just waiting to be discovered.  Make sure you come early to get the items you are looking for.

  Front Bedroom – features a nice Duncan Phyfe Waterfall Cedar Chest.  Some great bedding including handmade quilts some are nice others need help.  We have sets of embroidered pillow cases - some have lace.  We have sets of full size sheets, blankets and some small store bought throws (one is electric).  There is a silk covered chair (needs repair) and some very nice ladies tops.  There is a swivel TV stand / storage unit.  We have tables and shelves full of make-up and creams.  Brands include: Lancome. Shiseido, Sisley, Neutrogena, Estee Lauder, Dauphin, Murad, Youthful Essence by Susan Lucci, Bobbie Brown, Guerlain, Chanel, Elizabeth Arden, Clarions, Clinique, Trish McEvoy, Laura Mercier, Christian Dior, Alex Vogel, Divinera, Dalton, Clarisonic, Dr. Demnese, La Prairie and Prescriptives.  We have lip and eye pencils, make-up brushes, eye, shadow, nail polish, lipstick, creams and lotions.  There are brushes, some sets, powders and compacts.  Come early for the best selection.  We have a nice metal woven bench with pillow and some nice baskets.  There is a box of perfume samples and a box of all sorts of make-up and cream samples along with a box of bagged samples.  We have two really nice lamps with shades (BNI).  Come early for the best selection.

  Middle Bedroom – features a very nice vintage bedroom set in pristine condition.  The bed has a great headboard and footboard with full size with rails.  There is also a nice full mattress and box spring.  We have a set of bedding that has curtains and throw pillows along with sheets, comforter and pillows with matching shams.  The Bed has a matching Chest of drawers with a bottom drawer is a mini cedar chest.  It also has a matching vanity with a great mirror and vanity chair.  This bedroom set matches and all the pieces are in awesome condition.  We have a Singer trundle sewing machine in a nice wood cabinet.  It is in great condition, and it works.  It also comes with some accessories.  We have men’s and lady’s hats.  There is also a container of knit caps and hats.  There are vintage pictures on the walls, and lots of night gowns and pajama sets along with ladies purses and wallets.  We have some belts and vintage jewelry boxes.  There are vintage lamps with shades (BNI) and lots of hand-crocheted throws.  Come early for the items in this room as everything here has been well cared for.

  Master Bedroom / Boutique – features three racks of ladies clothing.  We have vests, blouses, skirts, pants, dresses, and blazers along with coats and jackets.  We also have sweaters, tops, T-shirts, scarves, men’s ties and ladies shoes and boots.  Clothing sizes are mostly small to medium and shoe sizes are 7 to 8.  There are also two racks of leather blazers, pants, skirts, and tops along with coats.  We have a great vintage arm chair with wonderful striped fabric.  We also have some cloth totes and skirt or pant hangers.

  Master Bathroom – features an oriental jewelry box, a shower chair, a heater, set of decorative towels, a box of cosmetic bags a hula skirt with lei’s, a heated back board and a shower rug.  We have Christmas sweaters, a lighted make-up mirror and a small lamp with shade (BNI).  We have some hair brushes and combs along with small bottles of Eau De Toilette and Perfume.
