This Desirable Collectibles of Yesterday and Today auction includes many famous glass makers from around the world. You will find Bohemian Glass, made in the Bohemia Region of what is now the Czech Republic from the late 14th Century all the way through to Present Day. US Glassmakers are well represented in this auction, with several pieces of Fenton Glass (late 19th Century through 2011), LE Smith Glass (1907-2004) Horse Head Bookends, and an Impressive Carnival Glass Punchbowl Set by Imperial Glass, circa 1960’s.
Ceramics and Pottery includes a large lot of Mackenzie-Childs pieces that you may have recently seen selling very high on a home shopping network. They have been producing wildly popular and fairly pricey modern ceramics since 1983. Capodimonte has been producing their iconic porcelain roses & flower bouquets in the area that is now Naples, Italy from the late 18th Century until today. Roseville Pottery (1890-1954) & Shawnee Pottery (1937-1961) produced their individually iconic pieces that are still highly sought after today. The last US Potter worthy of mention in the auction is McCoy, who has quite a following and produced pottery for almost a century, 1899-1991.
Militaria Collectors will want to find the WW1 Scoville Artillery Shell Fuse, which is mentioned in Collectors Weekly, Military & Wartime Show & Tell #579/7283. You will also find Military Stripes & Patch from Guadalcanal. Those collecting Toy Soldiers will want to check out from the 2 lots from the 1940’s & 50’s.
Gamers are getting into their emerging collectable market and will find a PS3 Console w/ Controllers and some older Wii Games & Accessories in this auction. Pop Culture enthusiasts will find both Coca-Cola and Disney Collectibles.
Rounding out the auction are the many lots with Precious Moments Figurines and Dept 56 Christmas Village, Heritage Village Collection, Dickens Village Series. There are several buildings in that collection that are worth a look, or even worthy of starting a collection. Don’t miss the lots of Dept. 56 Accessories to decorate your new village!
