Estate of the late artist Gordon Thomas of Greenville, best know for his large scale sculptures of WWII hero Audie Murphy, Speaker of the House Sam Rayburn and Professor Mayo, founder of East Texas State University (now Texas A & M - Commerce). Gordon spent his artistic career in illustration, only turning to sculpture later in life. Represented in this sale are dozens of his original oil paintings, watercolors and pastels, the works of other artists he admired, works by other family members, as well as antiques and other household goods. Several of Gordon's paintings are evocative of the Old West, others of life in East Texas. Art lovers will not want to miss this special Valentine's Day Sale! (Please note that home has active burglar alarm system, and sterling and fine jewelry is removed from the premises at the end of each day.)
