Description & Details
Take an old Henderson family and the last direct member leaves most of her things to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th cousins. . .at first it did not look like there could be an estate sale. HOWEVER, when some of the cousins started bringing things in to make room for their bequests, the fun really began. Antiques, hand-tied Oriental rugs (some in really poor but interesting condition), artwork, collectibles, handwork, lamps, costume jewelry, pottery, etc. . .it became a full-blown estate sale.
Since the "family returns" were about the same age, quality and style of the original, the house is now full of
-- Early 20th Century mahogany bedrooms items,
--Late 19th Century American Victorian tables, commodes and chairs
--A set of ten (10) antique claw and ball Chippendale dining chairs from Manheim, New Orleans
--The twin size four-poster beds that date early 20th Century – just do not sit on the beds because we made them look like mattresses and spring sets to display the Ralph Lauren bedding, they are really boxes and table tops. Knowing peoples propensity to get comfortable, someone will make the mistake – phone cameras at the ready.
--Hand work, dresser covers and even a maid’s cuff and collar set properly starched and ironed,
--Two sets of pottery,
--Lustres,
--Oriental artwork,
--Oil paintings, prints, lithos
--Hand-tied rugs of various sizes including a large runner
--An interesting 1920’s parlor set.
The sale should prove to be a fun one because of the age, variety and combination of goods.
