I spoke with Highland Park officials and they want all of us to have a great experience, however they do enforce the “Permit Only” parking and will issue tickets. And, as much as I am sure they appreciate the added revenue, they prefer all adhere to the rules as stated and have a wonderful time visiting HP.

A sign-up sheet will be set up at 7:00 am the first morning of the sale only. Please write in the names of all parties in your group. Take a photo of the list after you have signed in, just in case some naughty human runs off with it.  

DALLAS COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTY WILL BE ON SITE

This is a multi-floor home and all bedroom furniture is on the second floor, as well as some office furniture, art and men’s clothing. We do not bring items down for you, please do not go up, if you can’t get back down.

PLEASE do not bring any handbags/backpacks or such. Small cross body or wallets are fine. We will have a sign-up table set near the driveway on Friday morning, at 7:00am. Please sign in on list in order to save your place in line. Be back by in line by 8:45 am, please. We are limiting 30 people inside the sale at a time. Please note we are not able to have children under 12 inside this event. Thank you as always for understanding. This is a very full estate and there is limited space for shoppers.

1945 Willys Jeep

1945 Willys Jeep CJ-2A serial#11654.  This is one of 1,824 units produced in the last half of 1945 for civilian use.  This vehicle seems to have been produced with some parts from earlier "Willys" that might cause confusion with some historians.  Some believe that this is possible due to available production parts when converting the vehicle from the military "Willys" to the first year civilian CJ-2A.

Both "Willys" and "Jeep" are stamped into the engine cylinder head, making this a first-year production Jeep.  Prior to the CJ-2A, all of these vehicles were known as "Willys".

There is what appears to be an original factory plate with CJ-2A 11654 attached to the front frame of the vehicle.  There is also a "Willys" stamped plate that appears to not be an original plate (probably a reproduction plate) attached to the dashboard of vehicle that states the vehicle is a 1942 "Willys", as is stated on the vehicle Title.  However, based on that the front steering is connected under the radiator, tailgate and "Jeep” stamped into the cylinder head and the factory plate attached to the front frame showing CJ-2A, we feel the vehicle is not a 1942 and is a 1945 CJ-2A.  Please see video and pictures.

Vehicle runs and drives great.  Vehicle has a new battery, carburetor, rebuilt gas tank and gas lines, brake lines, tires, starter and a new or rebuilt transmission.  Vehicle has not been restored.  The only known repairs made to the vehicle were mechanical, to keep the vehicle in best running condition.

Availability of Items:
Unless an item is listed as “pre-sell”, we do not give pricing or availability of items over the phone or email.

Limit of Persons:
We do limit the number of people into our events based on the size of the home and items inside. Limit 30 persons inside at any time. Some rooms and areas will have additional limitations as well. Please read our signs to keep the flow of the sale moving smoothly.

No Children Inside Event:
Sorry, no children under the age of 12 allowed inside. This includes infants in your arms. Each sale poses challenges such as, chemicals, knifes, glassware, collectibles, metal, swimming pools and hurried adults.

Tax Exempt:
Are you sales tax exempt? You must provide us with the proper pre-printed forms with all your information. We Do Not provide these forms nor do we keep them on site. This is very important if you are tax exempt. We do not provide these forms. Please bring them with you. If you do not bring them, we will assess the current sales tax to your purchase. Thank you for helping us in keeping the cashier line moving quickly.

Payment Options:
We accept cash and credit/debit over $50. If under $50, we assess a 10% surcharge on credit card transactions. No Checks accepted. We reserve the right to refuse any cash/credit or debit cards without proper photo ID. Some purchases may require a time delay if a credit card is used, before we hand the item (s) over to you. Gold/Diamond/Sterling items are cash only. Vehicles are cash or bank to bank wire transfer only.

No Warranties:
All items are to be considered used. No refunds or exchanges of any kind. All items AS IS, WHERE IS. No items have been authenticated and no guarantees are spoken, written or implied. Please know before you buy.

Moving/Packing Items: No help moving or loading will be available at this sale. Please note we do not have help moving your purchases. As with packing, we like our customers to pack their own items to ensure they are pleased with the packing. We provide packing materials and bags until they run out. It is always a good idea to carry some in your vehicle to the sale as we can run out quickly.

Purses/Handbags/Bags:
No purses, handbags, briefcases, backpacks or such are allowed inside our sales. Please, DO NOT BRING THEM TO THE ENTRANCE. Security will kindly turn you away from the door. Small cross body or waist/ pouch holders are allowed to carry your wallets and such. Large bags can knock items over and break them, also…Yes, people steal. We don’t think you do, but others not as kind do and we must set this rule into place.

Bathroom Facilities:
No restrooms available. Seriously, there is NO restroom available for public use.

Safety:
Please be aware of your surroundings and physical limitations. This home is not handicap accessible. We do not provide handicap access in private homes and ask that you are mindful of any stairs, doors, changes in elevation, items on the floor, hanging from the ceiling, glass doors and such. We are not responsible for any accidents or injuries. Please be mindful of your environment at all times.

Parking:
Please do not block driveways and mailboxes and be mindful of the neighbor’s grass.  You many need to park on a side street and enjoy a pleasant walk to the sale. We will keep the front of the home blocked off for pick-up of sold items only.

Holds:
Any items you ask us to hold must be purchased by you. We do not allow you to hold items as you shop, only to come back and sort and decide. IF you hold an item in your arms or our holding areas, you have agreed to purchase. We reserve the right to ask for immediate purchase of any items held.
