William Zaner -Bill Zaner was born on February 13, 1930. He passed away on November 22, 2015. He was a Texas landscape master. The landscapes of Texas - mountains, deserts, high plains and rolling meadows fill each days work for Bill Zaner. The artist discovered his subject more than 4 decades ago after he first moved to Texas . "I never had to go anywhere else to find such a wealth of beauty to paint," he says referring to Texas. He has a lifetime of work to prove it, too. Reflecting now on his career at age eighty-one, Zaner says he never wanted to do anything else with his life but paint.
Bill's work is a valued addition to many public and private collections, including the Texas Artists Collection of Texas A&M University

Gordon Mortensen (b. 1938, American) is one of the best known reduction woodcut print artists working in the U.S today. He works from watercolor studies to understand the color dynamics needed for the woodcut. The artist uses up to sixty-four colors and takes as long as three months to create the woodblock image. Although the final outcome has a painterly feel, it is unmistakably a woodcut with rich layered colors and wood grain textures. His early images mostly represent the upper Midwest landscape, and areas around where he lived in North Dakota. His color preferences in these early works is more muted compared to the brighter colors he favors to present his current home in California.
