Sid Burns 1975 Bronze Sculpture "Banditos": A 1975 bronze sculpture titled Banditos by Sid Burns (1916 – 1979). Burns, who was born in Oklahoma, resided in Arizona for much of his life and was a self-taught artist who began sculpting at the age of 50. The work depicts two outlaws on horseback with a horse carrying their provisions trailing behind them. The piece is signed by Sid Burns, titled Banditos, dated 1975 and numbered 10 of 15 to its base. The work is presented on a wooden base with an engraved brass plaque which reads “Sid Burns Banditos 1975”.Signed R.C. Gorman Serigraph "Carol's Blanket": A signed serigraph print titled Carol’s Blanket by Navajo artist Rudolph Carl Gorman (1932 – 2005). Gorman’s work is highly recognized both nationally as well as internationally. A figure of a Navajo woman is depicted to the center with her head raised. She is wrapped in a blue and red striped blanket with long black fringe. The piece is signed R.C. Gorman in pencil to the lower left and reads E.P.I. to the lower right. The piece is float mounted, presented under glass in a wide black mat and black lacquered wooden frame; hanging hardware present to the verso.David Herriott Original Oil on Canvas "Zuni Pot Ca. 1890": An original oil painting on canvas titled Zuni Pot Ca. 1890 by Dallas artist David Herriott (1930-2010). Born in Chicago, Herriot attended the University of Illinois, Chicago Art Institute and the American Academy of Art. During the 1950s he served in the U.S. military and eventually settled in Texas where he painted and designed furniture for industrial spaces. The work depicts a late 19th century painted Zuni vessel against a stark black matte gessoed canvas. A single ethereal light source illuminates the top of the pot while the rest of the piece is cast in shadow. Signed to the lower right corner, the work is presented on a gallery wrapped canvas, dated 6-1-88 and signed to its verso. The piece is wired to its back for hanging.Signed J.W. Squash Blossom Necklace: A signed J.W. squash blossom necklace. The necklace features a length of approximately 27.00", ten green turquoise stones to the neck piece with blossoms and seven green turquoise to its center. The piece is stamped J.W. to its verso and is finished with a hook and eye closure. Unstamped, the silver tested as 91.65% pure when evaluated. A WWII veteran who formerly owned and operated a small shoe repair business in Laguna Beach, California, the Oklahoma-born self-taught artist began sculpting at the age of 50 when he returned to the Southwest. His subjects were often cowboys and his sculptures are best known for their portrayals of frantic moments frozen in time when both man and beast are in peril. This exemplary work of Burns showcases some of his finest artistry from its daring pose of rider and horse suspended in mid-air, to his finesse with regards to rendering the horses’ musculature, expressive movement and tack. The piece the captures the second of impact between a rodeo pick-up man and the rider he is attempting to rescue from getting thrown. The work is marked 1977, titled Eight Plus Two signed Sid Burns and numbered MB-15 to its base. The piece is presented on a round wooden swivel base"Rosebud" Model Riverboat by Edward C. Sims: A model of the Rosebud stern wheel riverboat by Edward C. Sims. Ed Sims was a model ship builder based out of Laguna Beach, California.
