Jamabalaya Online Estate Auction

Here are the Rules (and whatnot):

RULE # 1: You have to register to bid. We get the final say on whether you bid on our auctions.

RULE # 2: Everything we sell is sold AS IS. We photograph and describe items to the best of our decidedly inexpert abilities. We set aside specific times to let you come look at what we’re selling and decide if you really want it, need it, or can use it. Of course, we want you to be happy with your purchase, and if we completely miss the mark on something so obvious that a first-grader would say, “Um, DUH?!” we are happy to try to make things right for you. On the other hand, if you come to us and say, “The listing said these napkins are lavender but they are PERIWINKLE!” not only will we roll our eyes like a teenager, we might even decide that we don’t want to do business with someone who cares enough about the difference between lavender and periwinkle to bust our chops about it.

RULE # 3: Camp Kitsch, our employees, and consignors reserve the right to bid on any auction item.

RULE # 4: There is a 17% Buyer’s Premium on all lots. If you bid $1.00, you are agreeing to pay $1.17 (plus any applicable sales tax).

RULE # 5: Speaking of SALES TAX, the Texas Comptroller’s Office requires that we collect sales tax on all taxable items. If you have questions about whether an item is taxable, go to the Texas Comptroller’s website. If you are a reseller…and here’s the important part….OF THE KIND OF ITEMS YOU ARE BUYING….fill out Form 01-339 from the Texas Comptroller’s website and get it to us at the time of registration!! No refunds for sales tax charged will be issued because you forgot to let us know that you are a dealer; put on your dealer britches and file a request for a refund on your next sales tax return.

RULE # 6: We have set pick-up times for a reason. Make whatever arrangements are necessary to be sure your items are picked up on time, or face our wrath and a $20.00 per day nuisance fee for storing and moving your items out of our way while we are unpacking and doing listings for the next auction. If you don't pick up on time, we might just relist your stuff in the next auction and keep your payment as something our cousin Vinny calls "Liquidated Damages."

RULE # 7: If you fail to pay for your items…..I won’t even go there. Just don’t. You’re dead to us.

RULE # 8: If an issue arises which we, as reasonable human beings cannot resolve between us to our mutual dissatisfaction, any legal action must be undertaken in Rockwall County, Texas courts, according to Texas laws; we don’t have time to be jetting around to other counties or states.

RULE # 9: If you have unresolved concerns or complaints about our auctions, you are welcome to contact the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation at (512) 463-6599. Reference Auctioneer License Number 16309. They probably won’t do much if your concern is about our sassy attitude or quirky, yet adorable sense of humor, but if we have somehow managed to actually violate THEIR rules (and whatnot), they will definitely investigate and mete out whatever penalty they have established for said infraction.

RULE # 10: Most importantly, please have fun and laugh with us (or AT us, occasionally)! Life is too short (and we are much too old) to take this stuff seriously.
