We have the honor of selling antiques, rugs, silver and dinnerware gifted to UTSA by the Leutcher Brown estate several years ago. It is time to make changes and the funds raised from the sale of the items that have been in storage or no longer needed will augment funds for student services and special projects. This deaccession process is one of the areas our company is qualified to undertake.
Highlights include:
Four sets of dinnerware. Pickard, Rosenthal, part set Wedgwood, Johnson Bros., plates and mugs from Herb Garden. The cream with gold trim design by Pickard sports a gold crest of the City of San Antonio on the plates and cups and saucers. The dessert plates, bread and butter plates and cream soups are left unadorned. This dinnerware will be sold by the place setting or by the type of piece. There now are approximately 200 plates, 200 cups and saucers and dessert plates and 175 demi tasse cups and saucers......you get the idea. There also is Royal Danish sterling silver flatware by International. Sets of 12 dinner size and of luncheon size - and one set of 8 plus 1 set of serving pieces, iced tea spoons, cocktail forks, and butter spreaders are available.
Chairs, demi-lune game tables, console tables with marble tops, a highly carved ebony finished entry table for a large space, a highly carved European bookcase or china cabinet, porcelain lamps, many silver items for entertaining from tea services to trays and unusual items, large oriental rugs, and much more. A sterling silver tea service consists of a teapot, sugar, creamer, waste bowl, and hot water kettle on stand - Martele by Gorham made only between 1900 and 1912 of .958 sterling. Also a German Edwardian look sterling centerpiece bowl and a simple tray in a classic and timeless design. Other silver plated trays, bowls and serving pieces including a beautiful coffee urn.
A standout is the beautiful antique tall case clock with roses painted on the dial and made by G. J. Bates, Ludham.
There are trays, Revere style bowls, chafing dishes, Pyrex casserole holders, and more. Looking for vintage tulip shape champagne glasses? We have a selection, plus 50 water goblets, wines, and champagnes in a design that will blend with many others.
Three large antique Persian rugs. One is palace size 18' x 36' and signed.
In addition, there are 15 Chippendale style dining chairs and 12 5-foot conference tables in natural wood finish from a conference room renovation. Buy one, a pair, or all.
The sale will be structured like a sale in a home with items marked at full price Thursday, 25% off Friday, 50% Saturday, and further discounts on Sunday, the final day. Reasonable offers considered late Saturday and all day Sunday. Other items in the Gallery are reduced by their owners, as well. Remember, cash or check for half price items.
