Description & Details

House filled with interesting items gathered during world travels. The owners especially appreciated wood carvings and exotic woods.

The hand carved, one of a kind chair with an eagle back is truly unique. And two large round dining table tops of acadia wood must be seen to appreciate the beautiful and unusual grain of the wood. Beautiful baskets, weavings and textiles, and hand carved small furniture accents and accessories add to the layers of tactile enjoyment.

This sale is like a time capsule of the 1920s to the 1950s!

Waiting to be discovered were wonderful momentoes of two ancestors' weddings as well as the owner's wedding dress and photos.

Three generations of laces, quilts, wedding dresses, photos, post card collection, and baby clothes were stored in an oversized cedar chest. There are literally more than 60 photos of various relatives from the Victorian and Edwardian era, as well - including unusually good photos of children. And the Christmas ornaments are some of the best we've seen! There are several small porcelain antique dolls and two china dolls with blond and strawberry blond hair.

The family preferred mid century teak and exotic hardwoods including chests, coffee and lamp tables, Asian chests, casual dining Danish chairs, and rattan. For comfort, leather, wicker, and velvet added contrast to the modern lines of Danish furniture.

Many items carved by Don Wimberly, an artisan with a following for his pottery and hand crafted items including dining table tops and carved decorative items. Sterling silver flatware and jewelry are on tap too. Baht chains with tags intact, and artisan pendants will tempt you.

Collectible glass includes a "Magnolia" punch bowl and footed cups, Depression, Sandwich, sleek cobalt blue glass Moderne sugar and creamer set, nesting mixing bows, and blue and white Mexican pottery.
