This is to liquidate the estate of Mr. Clay Ford. He was a fighter pilot in WW2. The homestead was built in 1931 by his father, Mr. D.O. Ford. The interior of this home is shiplap throughout, with wood floors and ceilings. His father started Lakeview Rose Nurseries in the 30’s and was one of the first established in Tyler. Their family was well off in those days, as the elder Mr. Ford was rumored to be a bootlegger. His son Clay took over the rose nurseries after the war. He had several patents on roses. In his later years, Clay worked at Carl Owens Paint and Body... until he turned 97! Clay passed away at 98 years old. There were items in his home that hadn’t been touched in 50 years. The shiplap in this house alone is a “must see”! There’s much more than shown in photos.
