Auction Terms & Conditions

CONDITIONS OF SALE All lots are sold to the highest bidder AS IS WHERE IS. All items offered online will have a minimum starting bid of $1.00 as displayed on the online catalogue. Online bids lower than minimum will not be accepted. All prospective bidders are advised to inspect each lot they wish to bid on and to satisfy themselves as to the description, authenticity, overall condition of each lot and to bid accordingly. Bidder inspection is encouraged. In addition to an advertised preview, please feel free to request a private review by emailing scott@capitalareatreasures.com to arrange.

By placing a bid, bidder signifies that they have examined the items to their satisfaction, or that they have chosen not to personally examine them. All lots are sold AS IS WHERE IS, with no guarantees. Catalogue descriptions and auctioneers statements are opinion only, with no warranty implied. If the auctioneer verbally guarantees item's authenticity and said item is proven to be other based on a recognized experts comprehensive report, the auction house shall provide a full refund. All claims must be submitted within Seven days of auction sale date. Capital Area Treasures, LLC will not incur any cost associated with outside appraisals or opinions.

The winning bidder shall be responsible for their purchases, absolutely no refunds due to damage or loss. All lots are sold AS IS WHERE IS, with no guarantees. Catalogue descriptions and auctioneers statements are opinion only, with no warranty implied. All items are sold as genuine articles, unless stated otherwise, with no reproductions or copies knowingly being offered. Descriptions are given to the best of our ability and knowledge regarding condition or vintage. That being said, each bidder must accept his or her own judgment regarding condition & authenticity of each item. Sold AS IS WHERE IS, NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS.

ACCEPTABLE PAYMENT METHODS: Credit Card payment information is entered at time of auction registration and funds equivalent to the total for auction, premiums and taxes will be debited on date that auction concludes.

SHIPPING: Capital Area Treasures will ship Items at no cost for items that weigh 30 pounds or more or for buyers who spend $30 or more for any single option. The radius for free delivery is 30 miles from the auction pickup location. We will only be ship to the Credit Card billing address, which must be provided with the security code on the credit card.. Successful Bidders paying via Visa & Mastercard must provide full billing address, security code on the back of the credit card & phone number for bank authorization. Capital Area Treasures, LLC will make every reasonable effort to safely transport items, however will not be responsible for any damage that occurs as in conjunction with delivery of any purchased items. Failure of buyer to respond to/follow through on arrangement for pick-up or delivery for a period of 30 days will forfeit their won item and will be ineligible for a refund. Delivered items will be left at front door, should buyer not be home on the day of the agreed dropoff.

Capital Area Treasures, LLC will not package and/or ship items through a 3rd party carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx etc.) Winning bidders who live outside of the Washington D.C. metro area agree to arrange for pickup of won items by a company that will pack or crate their won items. There will be no refunds given for those out of region buyers who win item(s) that do not arrange pickup for. Failure to arrange for pickup within 14 days after the end of an auction will result in forfeit of payment and won item (s).

Capital Area Treasurs, L.L.C. will communicate with all successful online bidders within 24 hours after auction to arrange pickup or shipping details. All sales are final. BUYERS PREMIUM: All lots sold to bidders a 15% buyers premium.

Sales Tax: All items are subject to Virginia Sales Tax of 6%.

Bidding at this auction constitutes your acknowledgment and acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Currency displayed as part of photography is used to give scale and is not included with lots.
