Description & Details
Just under 300 lots, a collector's offering rather than a house sale, weighted toward smalls and deep in four places.
Pottery leads: Robinson Ransbottom spongeware mixing bowls, an RRP blue-banded yellowware bowl, two Watt "Dutch Tulip" bowls, an A.E. Hull lovebirds pitcher, a green Uhl lattice and grape pitcher, a Red Wing trophy vase, Hull Magnolia and a McCoy pot belly stove cookie jar. Salt-glazed stoneware includes an antique one-gallon Chandler jug, a hand-thrown quart whiskey jug, a pair of pint jugs, and a grape and trellis pitcher under Albany glaze. Glass runs to Imperial milk glass, carnival, Orrefors crystal and Turkish cranberry service.
Folk art centers on three antique carvings - a rocking rabbit worked from one piece of wood, a horse pull toy on cast iron wheels with a horsehair tail, and a rocking horse with inset glass eyes - plus four ANRI duck decoys and mid-century string art. Native American and Southwest material includes four signed Navajo horsehair vessels, a carved burl wall sculpture signed B. Martin, a framed sand painting and coiled basketry.
The advertising run is the largest single concentration: a 64" Hollingsworth's Christmas Candies Santa store display, a Burwood Coca-Cola "Family Drive-In" figural wall clock, an embossed Coca-Cola "Sold Here Ice Cold" sign, and character dolls from Mr. Peanut and Ronald McDonald to the Hamburglar and Dig 'Em. Six cast iron figural banks sell individually, plus seven clocks, Dietz railroad lanterns and gas station tins.
Also selling: 10K, 14K and 18K gold with diamonds, pearls, silver Washington quarters and wheat cents; a Salterini wrought iron patio group; museum exhibition posters and signed prints; six hand-stitched quilts; Civil War dug bullets; Marshall, Fender, Crate and Peavey amps; and Mattel Barbie.
Worth scrolling start to finish - the smalls are where this sale hides its best.
