Description & Details

This will be our third and last sale at this address.  For those of you who came to the first two sales, know that for this last sale, we will have the two bedrooms at the end of the house open, we will add more salable items discovered in the attic, we will also add more salable items discovered in the 12 plastic trash cans that have spent 10 years in back of the house, and we will offer items that are sitting outside in the back of the house including a white ceramic elephant stool and garden statuary.  We will be offering progressive discounts this weekend in order to sell as much as possible by the close of the sale on Sunday, 03 December.  Please bring empty boxes and satchels with you to carry away your purchases.  Also bring plastic gloves to protect your hands.

Yes, we discovered more clocks and clock movements in the attic and also stored outside.  We have cleaned them and set them out for you to see in the living room and in the large room downstairs.  Two of the clocks you will find hung in the large downstairs room. Yes, we discovered more books, in fact MANY MORE books.  We have tried our best to shelve them, both in the library as well as in one bedroom.  We have discovered about 12 dolls, including one Kewpie, three Asian, more German/French.  More interesting are the ceramic female busts to be sewn onto bodies.  One is particularly fine, being a French porcelain female bust wearing a fancy hat.  Others are Asian dolls.

Yes, we discovered more INTERESTING STUFF in the attic.  After cleaning these items, we set them out wherever we could find space.  One is a 2-story lithographed tin doll house.  Another is small lacquered Asian scene table.  Look through the photographs we have published to see the two Japanese (?) ceramic plates featuring a bird and a squirrel.  If you read the calligraphy on the bottom, you can look up this fine artist.  A figural wood carving we found in one of the 12 rubber garbage cans on the deck in the back yard is a figure with pointed head/hat and articulating arms.

We also found a set of carvings of Asian men in robes.  Vintage collectibles include a small tin Planter's Peanut dish with ruffled walls, miniature child's baking pans, vintage tin cookie cutters, 3 tabletop-size pinball games, vintage suitcase in good condition, 2 walking sticks, more miniature ceramic animals.  We took the vintage ammunition box down to the large room and have considerably rearranged what was there so that you can walk around more easily.  We are selling the vintage firearms apart from the on-site sale.  Ask to see our inventory of them if you are interested.  We have uncovered more hand tools as well.

How many of you know what a "prie Dieu" is?  We found a Victorian one in the attic, covered in red velvet, the "book bin" quite used.  I wonder how many people and of what ages used it, also what country it was made in.  We recognized the print of the Hawaiian King Kamehaha.  What is intriguing about it is the framed that it is in because two sea shells were attached to it.

Look forward to this sale as a truly remarkable experience.
