Betty Lou Parker Weaver, was a proud Brave.  She taught history and government at Indian River High School for 39 years. She sponsored various activities including SCA, Yearbook, Alpha Omega Phi Tri Hi Y and many senior classes.  She was the Constitution Teacher of the Year for the VA Bar Association in 1991 and also a finalist for the Teacher of the year for the Chesapeake Public School System in 1991.  She served four years on the Chesapeake Planning Commission. Betty was very active in the Chesapeake Pilot Club, serving in numerous capacities, including President in 1989. Her various activities left a profound impact on the Chesapeake Communities and her work was cherished by her students & fellow staff members.
