Mr. Heard was VP of Newport News Shipyard as well as Chairman of the Board of the Mariners Museum.  He and his wife, Sadie, collected antiques in the 1930's.  Many of the items haven't left this home since it was built.  The current owner inherited the house as well as most of the contents offered in the sale.  A treasure trove of a sale...it's worth the drive.
