Description & Details
A love affair that started in college at Marquette University in 1965, allowed Nick and his wife Janice to travel the world finding themselves in Cairo Egypt. Janice, as a military wife, had a very good eye and chose lovely items including art, lamps, books, lovely kitchen ware, a full garage, a 1984 300 D Mercedes-Benz, ($ 30,000. firm). and a pontoon trailer, (cost $1,750, offered for $800.).
This will possibly be our largest sale this year. The couple enjoyed several international adventures in their 57 years of marriage. On exchange duty with a Royal Naval Air Squadron, as a defense contractor resident for six years in Cairo Egypt, and as retirees enjoying several cruises in Europe as well as a trip from Ft. Lauderdale down the west coast of South America to Antarctica and deep into the Amazon for 68 days offered opportunities to add to their collections. The exchange with the Royal Navy afforded Janice the opportunity to cruise with her husband's task group because the supply ships serving Her (at the time) Majesty's ships were crewed by civilians and offered staterooms when available to Naval Officer's wives. That voyage, beginning in Gibraltar, took the couple to Cape Town, South Africa (two weeks), Mombassa, Kenya, Nairobi, Kenya, Cyprus, Khartoum in Sudan and finally to Singapore and Hong Kong. On one other occasion, Janice was asked to stand in for an injured U. S. Naval Attache's wife in Dakar, Senegal where she served in an official capacity without her husband who remained at their residence at the time in Hartford, CT. The only things not for sale are the memories (and they are as many as the things
acquired along the way). We will sell Wednesday through Sunday. There are so many good items. I feel we need
a few extra days.
We have delivery available. The cost falls on you, but we have a great moving team!
