BEFORE READING THE LONG LISTS OF ITEMS OR LOOKING AT PHOTOGRAPHS PLEASE READ about the owners. Janice (Jan) & D. P. VanBlaricom (Van). Van was a Marine, then took time for education, then became a Bellevue Police Officer, then CHIEF OF POLICE, then served on the Bellevue City Council & retired about 60 yrs. old. He then became an Expert Witness in Courts around the U.S. and worked til 86 yrs. old. Van was a descendant of the Washington Pioneer family "The Mercers".
Jan owned I. Magnin Design Corp. serving the NW for years. Jan was a descendant of a small family lumber business in the Northwest. She studied and collected Fine Antiques. Jan was the original force behind collecting then Van became enthralled with a huge zest for collecting and they spent their lives together collecting for this home. They both were supporters of many Arts & Charities in Bellevue & Nationally.
JAN PASSED A SHORT TIME BEFORE VAN. THEY HAD NO CHILDREN. THEIR REQUESTS WERE FOR THEIR HEIRS TO SELECT WHAT THEY WANTED AND THEN SELL THE BALANCE IN BELLEVUE, WASH. AFTER THE SALE , remaining items will be shipped to N.Y. & Calif. auctions that specialize in specific items.
