Description & Details

Description of sale: It’s been such a pleasure to work in a home full of cherished family treasures and curated collections!

The home was built in 1976 by the current owners and is nestled in a lovely established neighborhood in rural Maltby (South Snohomish County). Maltby began in 1887 as a railroad work camp known as “Earl” along the Seattle, Lake Shore, and Eastern Railway. Originally a bustling logging and milling community with its own school, church, hotel, and general stores, the town was later renamed “Yew” before becoming “Maltby” in 1893, after developer Robert Maltby subdivided land in the area. Though growth and nearby suburban expansion have changed the surrounding region over the years, Maltby still retains the distinct character and rural charm that set it apart from neighboring communities.

After fifty years in this home, the clients are preparing for a significant downsizing, making available many of the vintage and antique treasures they have lovingly collected and preserved over the years. In addition to becoming caretakers of meaningful family heirlooms and memorabilia, they also assembled collections reflecting a deep appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and timeless design.
