Description & Details

This sale features artwork, clothing, and possessions from the late Lady Iya Abdy (nee Iya Grigorievna De Gay), a socialite and model of the 1920's and 30's. Lady Iya Abdy, as she was later known, was a sensational beauty who posed for fashion photographers such as Man Ray, Balthus, Baron George Hoyningen-Huene, and Paul Tanqueray, and was featured in Vogue and Harpers Bazaar. She was often spotted in Parisian society with her close friends, Coco Chanel and Jean Cocteau.
Among Lady Iya Abdy’s exquisite pieces, this auction also features Hollywood relics of her son, actor George Gaynes and his wife, Allyn Ann McLerie. Many of the artwork featured in this auction has never been seen before and are part of the personal collection of Lady Iya Abdy.

This estate features French and Early American Furniture pieces, artwork from the 1800’s-now, costumes used by George Gaynes, vintage and modern clothing, and antique and modern household items.

This is the first part of a multi-auction sale for this family. Part 2 will include more clothing, outdoor, garage and more! Check back often for updates.
