A 1902 North End Home of a longtime UPS faculty member
This ca. 1902 house is rich with the collections of Creative People. Unusual vintage furniture, a charming handpainted petite still life cabinet, a fine Eastlake triple bookcase, a Jacobean library table that once graced the old Bookseller's bookshop on Tacoma's Court C. An authentic Japanese antique stairstep tansu from a Geisha house, plus a number of small Asian chests in wood, metal and lacquer. Elegant mahogany butler's desk, and a cozy green corduroy Chippendale style sofa. Great mirrors.
Textiles Galore: vintage and exotic clothing in a variety of styles, plus an outstanding Japanese wedding kimono. A number of handmade Oriental carpets, and a large Karastan Sarouk rug.
Artwork in a variety of media and styles including works by Bill Colby, Eva Kolsvary, Betty Sapp Ragan, an Agnes McLin collage, a large Cordy Wagner photograph, and NW art pottery. A fine Tom Torrens bell with wall bracket.
Unusual lighting: a period Mission table lamp, an artisan-made wooden lamp with hand blown art glass shades, slag glass lamps and other vintage pieces. Antique and vintage clocks, including a 3-piece black marble garniture set and a fine brass ship's clock among others. Pipes and swords.
Native American pieces including basketry a large collection of Hopi kachina figures and a fine coral squash blossom necklace, wooden Indian figures and totem poles, plus pottery both new and very old. World folk art, carved, painted and wrought.
Religious artifacts, bells, and figural metal bell pulls. Small decorative boxes. Glass floats in all sizes, and an old ship's lantern, plus a variety of old locks.
Rare hand carved vintage Japanese scenic transom panels and period folk art including kanban shop signs and kokeshi dolls in many sizes. A near-life-size handcarved wood galloping steed.
Vintage dolls and toys including older Madame Alexander Little Women and Steiff, plus a charming dollhouse and vintage children's books.
The Professor's intriguing study with many books on all subjects: art, architecture, history, plus globes and even a vintage Russian Cyrillic alphabet typewriter.

A large collection of Mid Century hand thrown Japanese pottery, much of it purchased directly from the kilns many years ago, plus a number of vintage sake pots. A number of large chargers including a highly-unusual double-painted example.
A gourmet's kitchen filled with copper, brass, Polish pottery, Fiesta dinnerware and quality cookware, vintage kitchenware, even a Southern beaten biscuit brake, plus an extensive cookbook library.
