This is the event we have been preparing for you for months …
an incredibly-varied houseful (and garden-ful).
From a world-reknowned collection of Irish Belleek earthenware, porcelain and parian ware in all forms and designs (Neptune, Tridacna, Mask, Grass, Shamrock, Echinus, Artichoke to name just a few) to tribal art from around the globe, from an ocean's worth of glass floats in all sizes to great furniture (Ralph Lauren poster bed, a revolving marble-top Victorian bookstand, display cases incl. vintage examples, an outstanding Monterey parrot-motif tile top side table to name just few pieces).
Artwork in all media from prints to paintings with a special emphasis on equestrian themes. Mirrors, lamps and lighting in a variety of styles.
Excellent Ephemera including Trader Vic's memorabilia, postcards, old menus, local history and featuring what must be the largest collection of Longacres Race Track items, from early-day photos and programs to signage (much of it from the personal collection of Longacres founders Joe and Luella Gottstein.)
Bookshelves full of interesting volumes from art to history to classic literature.
Jewelry: fine, fashion and ethnographic plus cases full of small collectibles incl. advertising items.
Silver hollowware and flatware.
Handmade Oriental carpets.
Garden art, primitives, and a whole greenhouse to explore.
A petite spinet piano.
More unusual and unique treasures tucked away throughout the house and yard….even we are still making discoveries.
Definitely one of the largest and widest-ranging collections we have had the honor of dealing with in nearly four decades of business.
We think everyone will find a treasure or two here.
Due to the quality and quantity of this collection, we are opening the first sessions as "By Appointment".
This will allow customers to have plenty of time to explore the entire collection with plenty of room to explore and make selections.
This sale will run for multiple weekends beginning Saturday and Sunday, August 26 and 27, from 9 am to 4 pm, plus a special weeknight session on Tuesday, August 29 from 4 pm to 8 pm.
Additional sale days will be added in the coming week.
(And yes, there WILL be Markdown Sessions in the upcoming weeks as well, as soon as these first sessions are over.)
Finally, some of the truly Museum-Quality Belleek rarities carefully collected by our client will be presented separately in online reserve auctions beginning in September.
We will add some photographs of those pieces as located in our off-site Belleek Boutique in a few days.
But believe us, there are many fine quality pieces available in the live on-site estate sale as well, as the photographs illustrate.
We look forward to welcoming you to this Most Memorable Sale.
