After 25 years, my parents have sold their darling 102-year-old lake home in Oconomowoc on Okauchee Lake in Wisconsin's beautiful Lake Country. The home is filled to the gills with wonderful vintage and antique furniture, home decor and artwork, most with a "rustic elegance" theme. My mother's favorite time period is the 1940s so many of the pieces are from this era. There are also lots of interesting home decor and art pieces they have collected from high-end art shows in the area over the years. The detached 2-car garage is loaded with goodies. My parents already have everything they need in their Chicago-area home and the closing is 3 days after the sale so everything must go!
For those not from the area, make a day trip of it! Oconomowoc is just 1/2 hour west of Milwaukee.
