Furnish a Dorm Room Contest

Dorm Move In DayHelp a college student furnish their dorm or apartment with $1,000 from EstateSales.NET!

One lucky college student will win the opportunity to furnish their dorm or apartment with $1,000 worth of estate sale treasures!  Dan McQuade, co-founder of EstateSales.NET, will bring his years of treasure hunting knowledge to your city to help you dig and pick your way to a dorm or apartment of your dreams.  So, now that you're ready, here's how to enter:

  1. Read and agree to the official contest rules.
  2. Like, Share, Tweet about this contest or EstateSales.NET to your friends, family and coworkers.  (You don't have to, but we'd really appreciate it!)

  3. Send an email to contest@EstateSales.NET with the following info:
  4. Your name, email, phone number, and city/state where your dorm/apartment is (so we can contact the winner)
  5. Provide us a picture of you (or someone you know like your mom, dad, grandma, that crazy uncle, etc) standing in line at an estate sale or holding an item they bought at an estate sale.
  6. Prize is for college students moving in to a new dorm or apartment only. We will feature the winner purchasing items in a future blog article showing how to furnish a dorm room and/or apartment with estate sale finds.  Contest starts on July 31st and winner will be chosen August 19th.  Dan McQuade will fly to the winner's city and meet with them August 29th - 31st to start your picking adventure at local estate sales.  So, what are you waiting for? Let's see those pictures!

Moving into my first apartment with three other guys. My mom seems to be very concerned that we don't have some of the basics...beds dressers...chairs...dishes. But, hey we are college students. She loves Estate Sales and has been finding items all summer. Come to San Diego and help us shop!

I am a long time subscriber to estatesales.net I start school in less than a week, the room I moved into is pretty empty. my mom & grandma have been estate sale shoppers as long as I can remember. A lot of my cloths and furniture are estate sale scores. I am so excited about school, I need a space that is serine and niche, with all the essentials, a space I can really focus on my studies, the only way to get that timeless atmosphere at a reasonable price, is estate sale shopping, wish me luck!!

My son is going to be a Junior at SJU in Philadelphia and he is moving into his first ever apartment with his fraternity brothers. I use estatesales.net every time I go to estate sales which is multiple times each week because I sell vintage & designer clothing. The apartment is empty and they are going to furnish with unwanted pieces from their parents house;. I offered to take my son to estate sales to find pieces that he likes, some are new and some older. But, he said no and I think this would be a great chance for him and his brothers to see how great estate sales are at finding interesting pieces to decorate with. Thanks....Audrey

My friends and I will be moving into an apartment last month. We are all college students at University of South Alabama; one a sophomore male starting in Dentistry, the other is a female Education major, and myself a graduate student starting an Advance Occupational Therapy Program at the University of South Alabama. We would love to have the opportunity to put unique things found at an Estate Sale. Please help me before my buddy fluids the walls with dead animal carcasses.

My mom is constantly going to estate sales. My 89 year-old grandad lives with us and he loves to go, also. She uses the excuse that she is taking him but secretly, that IS just an excuse so she can go to so many. You should have seen the three of us recently trying to load a steel picnic table with a stainless steel top (weighing at least 1000 pounds) onto a trailer. We did it, though. My 89 year grandad bought an exercise elliptical at that same sale to go with the stationery bike he had previously bought at an estate sale. (That is how he can continue to go to these sales.) I sure could use some help with my apartment in Auburn. I have two roommates who have as much decorating sense as I do - none. Please consider me in the contest. Happy estate sale hunting! (My mom and grandad are actually at an estate sale right now. When they return, I will take a picture or two of some of their "finds" and forward them to you.) Thanks!!!
