EstateSales.NET Coronavirus Statement

Estate Sales and the CoronaVirus (COVID-19)

3/31 UPDATE: We are in this together. We've stopped advertising on-location estate sales in states with a "Stay at Home" type order. There are many still listed on the site at the moment, but we are working through the list to unpublish on-location estate sales. Please consider helping estate sale companies by shopping online sales posted on our Estate Sale Marketplace.

3/30 UPDATE: Please follow the orders of your local area. Many areas are now under guidelines related to social distancing and other measures to reduce the spread of the CoronaVirus. Many companies have suspended sales temporarily while others are offering online shopping and/or porch pickup to avoid contact and abide by social distancing recommendations.

3/21 UPDATE: All estate sale companies and estate sale shoppers should be following the orders of your local area. There are many cities and states that have issued orders with regard to getting out in public. PLEASE do not list a sale or attend a sale if it is against orders for your area.

Estate sales are run by many, many small business owners across the country. As of right now, the CDC is recommending that people cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 10 people or more throughout the United States. In addition, some cities and states are making decisions right now with regard to estate sales and whether or not they can be held.

We are working with estate sale companies to help provide safe, alternative avenues so they can continue to help clients sell their belongings in a timely manner. If traditional sales are not able to be held in your area, please consider one of these alternatives to shopping at on-site estate sales:

  • Shop estate sales online:
One way to prevent the spread of the virus is to shop estate sales online rather than in person. We’ve teamed up with estate sale companies to remove our marketplace fees so they can list their sales as online sales. ( https://www.EstateSales.NET/marketplace ). We are seeing these start to ramp up, so please check back often over the next days and weeks.
  • Shop by Porch Pickup or Other Non-Contact methods:
Some companies are able to offer pickup with non-contact methods like purchasing online and then scheduling a time to pickup from the porch or similar location.

Please be aware that there will be many cancellations and postponements of estate sales. Please continue to check EstateSales.NET for the latest information. If you have the contact info for the estate sale companies in your area, please reach out to them and give them a word of encouragement. This will be a very tough time for their business (just as it is for ours).

We are trying to follow our local area's recommendations in our own business as well. Our team is currently working from home, so please pardon any kids talking loud or dogs barking in the background if you happen to call in and speak to one of our folks. We want to support the estate sale community in any way that we can. If you think of a feature or a communication that would be helpful during this time, please let us know.

Sincerely,
