Your estate is valuable. And our goal is simple: sell as much of the estate as possible for as much money as possible. To do that, we need to create a beautiful sale, with eye-catching ads, that is artfully staged to attract a mass of shoppers.

We don’t want leftovers, and “sold” isn’t enough for us. Instead, we carefully research everything you've got (not just antiques, if there are any), to determine the most we feel we can reasonably charge, based on the market. If we’ve got good stuff to sell, we want to sell it for the best possible price, no matter what it is.

We could just throw your stuff on some tables, publish some blurry photos of the mess for an ad, slap on prices, open for a few sale hours, then pack up what doesn't sell for charity or haul it off to auction. But we won't. Because that approach won’t get us your best bottom line, even though that is exactly what plenty of companies do. 

Instead, we take the Dixie approach: we focus on your sale and your sale only, attending to it with meticulous preparation and attractive promotion and staging—and are always met with big crowds at sale open. Dixie sales are always well attended, and at the end, there’s almost nothing left.

“They Rocked!!”

I met Carolyn when it became time for my mother to move from her home into an assisted-living facility. My mother had a large house that was filled with years’ worth of “treasures.” She was going to be able to take only a fraction of it with her to the new facility. We were dreading disposing of her life’s accumulation of “stuff,” as my wife and I both work demanding jobs and my brother lives in another state.

We were referred to Dixie Estate Sales from someone helping my mom sell her home and find the new place to live. We felt at ease with Carolyn at once, and did not bother to interview any other estate-sales companies. Her price was very reasonable based on our market research. We began discussing how the downsizing sale would be conducted about the time we put the house on the market. We were thinking my mother would move in several months, and we would have the sale after she moved. Thus we were proceeding slowly with process when all of the sudden the house sold and we had 30 days to get out.

So, the sale that was tentatively scheduled for “sometime” several months away had to happen NOW! Dixie was already booked every week but one during that time. Carolyn worked with us to accommodate our schedule, when others would have simply walked away. The minute her previous sale was over, she showed up to start working with us. She compressed her normal process into about a week to accommodate us. She came and worked tirelessly with us to make the sale happen at the time it had to happen. And did I mention that the day before the sale was to happen we had the blizzard of 2015? Carolyn got snowed in and stayed in the house overnight to complete the pricing and staging. The next day as the snow cleared, the crowd came. The house was nicely staged and everything had its place.

The Dixie Estate Sales team did a fantastic job on the sale, everything was very professional, they delivered a profit (after their commission) that was at least 5 times higher than we expected to make.

And after the sale was over, Dixie came and cleaned out the rest of the stuff and disposed of it for us. In addition to the sale, Carolyn was very attentive to my mother’s desires. She was very patient with my mother, whose health was failing, when selecting the items to put in the sale. I will be grateful for the assistance that Dixie Estate Sales provided us at a time when we were simply overwhelmed with the task downsizing my mother.

When looking for a company to sell the personal effects of my very good friends who had passed on, I wanted a company that would conduct the sale with the dignity and respect deserving of this special couple. After interviewing several companies, I settled on Dixie Estate Sales primarily because they were more flexible in working with the requests we made and there was a comfort level as we sat and discussed procedures.

The sale was conducted over two weekends with time between the sales to allow proper presentation of all the items. Dixie researched values of items they were not familiar with in order to get a fair price for the article.

Countless hours went into the preparation of the home. I was kept updated as they progressed. When the time came, I was comfortable with having them in charge of the sale.

Dixie proved to be trustworthy and when the sale was over I only had to bring in a professional crew to deep clean the house before placing it on the market. If I need such a service in the future, I will call Dixie.
