~Display brightly colored yellow signs throughout your local area directing traffic to your sale. Discard all signs after sale.
~Managing and conducting the sale from beginning to end.
~Cleaning up thoroughly after your sale. We will ensure your Home is Cleaned out and ready for Closing!!
~We Offer a Moving Service to your New Location. (New York Area)
~We will Move your families items into any Assisted Care Facility,etc. to ensure a smooth transition.

Should We get rid of things that we know are of no value, such as old postcards, magazines, newspapers or cleaning supplies, furniture, clothing etc.?

No! This is the biggest mistake people make when preparing to conduct a sale. Many people would consider certain items "junk", but that junk may be a diamond in the rough, or a treasure to a collector. Let us take care of the separating for you. This is part of our service. DO NOT THROW ANYTHING AWAY!!

We have 100 baby food jars full of old bolts and screws. Should we keep these?

Absolutely! Each jar could be sold for $1.00 a piece. $1.00 x 100 jars = $100.00... get the picture?

Is it ok for us to take all the old clothes, towels, linens and sheets to goodwill?

Everything sells. While it is common practice and charitable, these items are completely sell-able at the estate, moving & tag sales. Please refrain from discarding or donating these items prior to the sale.

Where do we begin?

Once you contact Sisters In Charge Tag Sales, we will meet with you at your convince to evaluate your items to determine the type of sale that best fits your needs. We can setup a specific time to come out and meet you or your representative at the location. Free Of Charge!!!

What happens at the first meeting?

Once on site, we can assess and determine the contents of a sale. What this means is we will determine whether or not there are enough items in the residence and what the saleability of the merchandise is. This will allow us to then make a decision as to whether or not you should have an estate sale , moving sale or if you should use our alternative services to liquidate the contents of the home.

What is the fee for coming to the house and assessing it for an estate sale?

Our consultation and meeting with you is "free", of charge. If we determine a sale is not warranted, we will recommend other alternatives and provide you guidance on who to contact. We would not recommend anyone we would not allow in our own home.

Family members and myself would like to have some of the contents in the house. How should we handle this?

We ask that you or family members try know of the items that you would like to keep prior to us coming out to assess the sale items. This will allow us to conduct a thorough assessment of what the sale can bring. Also, we ask that you remove any personal paperwork from the residence, such as birth certificates, social security cards, drivers license, passports, military documents, bank statements, pay stubs, medical bills, etc. Anything we may find that you may have missed we will put in a secure place for you. Even loose change!!

There are some items that we want to keep, but do not want to remove them from the house. How is this handled?

Any items that you would like to keep that will remain in the house will be moved and secured in a certain room or area of the house and marked as not for sale. We place Caution Tape with Do Not Enter Signs on any rooms that are off limits.

Do I need to rent tables, display cabinets or clothes racks?

No, we will bring in tables, display cases and clothing racks, book cases, etc. to display merchandise.

If the executor lives out of state, can we still have an estate sale and how?

Yes! We handle everything through email, faxing and registered mail. Very easy process! If you're working with a local realtor or with a lawyer, we can go through them as well.

What other services do you offer?

We have a great reputation with many real estate agents, home appraisers, certified jewelry appraisers, and estate lawyers. We can recommend and put you in touch with all of the above. We also have several liquidators that we can put you in touch with that can buy the left over merchandise for a bulk price. . We Also Have a Moving Service If You Need Items Moved To Your New Location, assisted living, etc.

We Offer a Entire House Clean-Out Service. We will have your home spotless ready for closing!

Let me start off by saying that I am a buyer at the estate and tag sales on L.I. for the last couple of years and have gotten to know many of the companies that run these sales. I've observed so many things at so many sales about the way the companies run them, the customers who attend these sales, and the home owners that hire these companies.
Sisters In Charge is amongst the best run companies at a task that is so difficult to please both home owner and buyer. Think about it fairly. If the homeowner reaches for the stars on what they value their items at, then the buyer will be unhappy and will not buy. The homeowner is now unhappy at the end, because they didn't sell enough items. If the items are priced fairly and merchandise is selling well, the homeowner will feel it went too cheap. It's a fine line, and an almost impossible task.
Denise and crew do a great job of walking that fine line. You can't please everyone, but Sisters will do their best to do so. If I were a homeowner, I wouldn't hesitate to hire them. My suggestion, let these people do what they do best. They're professionals, not emotionally attached to your items. If I were a buyer (which I am), I will continue to support their sales.

Denise, Taking care of my mom when I live 4 hours away is very hard, but selling her house , moving her and moving out the contents of her home after 40 years is extremely stressful. Sisters in charge were my saving grace. Not only did they manager the sale of the contents of the home but they have a moving service as well. Rob moved my mom’s things to her apartment and then came back after the sale and removed unwanted items and cleaned the house to get ready for the new buyers. Sisters in charge became my guardian angel. They were professional, and extremely responsive. I don’t know what I would have done without them!

Thank you for the great job all of you did in the set-up and running the Estate Sale at my cousins house in Mattituck last week 10/9 & 10/11. I found that you were all very professional as well as being considerate of any of the personal effects that were found at the house. You all seemed to enjoy your work and had some laughs at some of the many "finds" at the house. I thought the publicity was excellent and thought that the turn out was good. Hopefully the final "clean up" will go as well and any of the stress that goes with clearing out a house will be over.

I cannot thank you enough for your concern regarding my car that wouldn't start. Tom was most kind and generous to give my daughter and me a ride close to home. I'm sure my son appreciated the fact that he didn't have to drive out to Mattituck to pick us up. I guess we all learned something about the pesky computer in cars that failed to recognize my key and start the car. Thankfully the cost to reset the computer was reasonable.

My husband Walter & I often attend your tag sales. However, I just wanted to let you know how pleased we are with our purchase from the Miller Place sale today. I must say.....We came, we saw & we conquered!. We went to this sale with our hearts set on just 1 specific item & we got it! We had purchased the credenza (curio cabinet) & we love it!! I have been looking for this type of cabinet for quite some time with out any success. So thankful that we are on your mailing list, otherwise we would never have found this gem. You were respectful of my mom's belongings & did your best to get fair prices. After the sale we hired your son to clean out the home. He donated what could which made my mom feel good that another family in need would benefit from the belongings she could no longer use.

I made a friend for life! Denise, and her crew of employees truly were amazing...I'll start from the beginning. .. My friends are moving and I suggested that they have a tag sale. Together, we called in Denise. Upon meeting her, we were very impressed by her professionalism. From the sale preparation through the entire sale, we were never disappointed. Denise, When my wife told me that she was having a Tag Sale run by Sister In Charge, I was apprehensive. You see, I can't stand strange people going through my home. The thought of the possibility of all these strangers coming through my home and going from room to room caused my blood pressure to rise. However, after meeting and speaking with you, you assuaged my concerns. The aftermath of the Tag Sale was a positive experience. At the end, one of your associates came, liked what he saw and bought out the remaining items. You are forever in my good graces due to your experience, professionalism and kindness. This year our family faced the challenge of moving our mother from her home of
sixty-two years into an assisted living facility. The hurdles seemed insurmountable. Finding a suitable facility, moving and helping her settle in, making repairs and selling the house were the first steps. This was made more difficult as we lived on opposite coasts and we would have to make the arrangements during our busy visits and by long distance calls and email.

When it came time to deal with the possessions left at the house, we were not prepared for the decisions, some emotional, that we had to make.
