This is the estate of a fantastic couple who shared an extraordinary 70+ years together...The gent was a Chemical Engineering Graduate of M.I.T. and the lady a Wellesley Education graduate. After marrying, they initially settled in New York before moving to Los Angeles in 1954 in search of a warmer client to start a family. The gent settled into a job with Knickerbocker Toys and his missus teaching and they initially settled in Studio City and later purchased a home in Encino to accommodate them and their two daughters. Dad left Knickerbocker to go to work with McDonnell Douglas and they built a wonderful life in Southern California...with their daughters grown up and their retirement years approaching...they decided to downsize into a large two story townhouse in Encino. Blessed with an enduring love built over the years...and incredibly devoted to one another to the end...they moved on to the next level within a matter of days of one another.

Their daughters have removed the mementos of their parents they wish to keep...and having previously sold the furniture at our other sale a couple of weeks ago in Encino...this estate is primarily quality smalls and a few smaller pieces of furniture...along with some great furs and general household. This sale is only two days and there are some incredible buys for the collector and for resellers...you eBay guys should definitely come out! :-) Hint Hint

This sale is in a secured building and the management has graciously allowed us to conduct the estate sale on premise. To avoid a early crowd forming and creating issues for the elderly residents of the street...the sale time will post at 9am the day the sale begins.  

Being a condo - entry will be restricted to approximately 30 people.  The first 30 shoppers will be escorted upstairs just before 10 am...and as people leave...others will be allowed in.  Thank you for understanding!

The lady of the house was a collector of better 19th Century Charges and plates! She was very proud of her pair of Royal Vienna Plates - both are ornate and hand painted! One features a topless lady receiving a kiss from a putti/cherub which checks out on marks and other aspects - the other is a portrait plate of the same period and very well painted - but I'm not sure. Your knowledge kicks in here...they are being sold as a pair as they are mounted together and offers may be made. You will also find two fantastic mounted Cobalt and Gilt Rimmed Limoges Cabinet Plates featuring Courtiers, along with several smaller period Courtier Limoges Plates. There is a large wonderful Capodimonte Bowl that is repaired, and a old German Decorated Bowl hanging on a wall as well.
