Join Again L.A. for our last sale of 2019 and it is a fun one! This is a great Old School Middle America Estate Sale in Highland Park. Why are we calling it that? Simple...the couple that not only lived here but raised their family in this home were married after WWII and set about making their American dream in the post war beehive that was Los Angeles! Dad served in the great war and afterwards was a lifelong Teamster Truck Driver. Mom was the homemaker with the formidable task of keeping the household together and their three children on point until Dad got home after working. This couple shared everything and achieved many successes over their decades together.

This estate reflects the many decades of this family's time together – Dad had established the lower floor basement as not only the family rec room – but as a place he and his buddy's could not only play poker and enjoy a few drinks – but his office...and his gym! Dad was a lifelong body builder and had outfitted the basement with an incredible collection of free weight work out equipment. You will also find several decades of body building magazines. Mom was a collector with an avid curiosity about entertainment and people in general. We have a great collection of primarily US coins going back to the Nineteenth century through the Sixties and even more contemporary collections of Presidential dollars and State quarters. She also loved stamps and we have quite a few books and packs of collectible stamps. There is a lot of other ephemera including Life and other Periodicals, LP albums and CDs of Music Genres ranging from Mario Lanza to the kids Police and B52s albums of the early 80s. As an empty nester – Mom went to work at NBC giving tours and we have a lot of various NBC items from the 80s-90s including photos, an NBC jacket, various NBC promo Items, and more!

The focus of this couple was family and friends. Lots of items for big dinners and parties – lots of fun and cute knick knacks and home accents, practical items, and such. The art is primarily prints – many cute and with a definite 40s-70s vibe and the furnishings are eclectic and a mix of eras and styles from early 1900s to contemporary. While Mom passed several years back….Dad has moved into an assisted living unit and taken a smaller household with him. There are a lot of pictures to review….and we are still unpacking and setting up and will be adding more pictures over the next few days. This is a fun sale that everyone will connect with….I know I did. So many things from my parents' and grandparents' home that I found myself smiling as we worked! :-)

NOTICE: This home is located on the side of a steep hill – you will have to park at an angle and may have to walk up or down the hill as parking is on one side near the home with additional parking above and below the home. This location is not friendly to those with mobility issues.
