Again L.A. Estate Sales
Description & Details
This Week Again L.A. is honored to present an exceptional estate sale in the Rancho Park District of L.A. Where is Rancho Park you ask? East of the 405 (I go up Overland from the 10 freeway) and between Manning Avenue to the West - and Beverly Glen to the East and between Lorenzo on the South and Olympic to the North. Its a great older upscale L.A. neighborhood chock full of wonderful L.A. Bungalows!
This is the estate of an exceptional gentleman (yes, he is still with us and just downsizing to make his golden years a bit easier) whose roots are old east coast....but reared in artsy Ojai before heading to Yale for his degree. His studies were interrupted by service in the US Navy where he reached Lieutenant JG before leaving the service where he continued to initially work as a Free Lance Photographer In Laos during the war - before continuing his travels in the Far East and eventually winding up in Europe for a decidedly long tour! He returned to the states in 1967 settling in San Francisco to write a novel and also wrote and directed his first film documentary which was a success!
Before long opportunity moved him to London in 1969. His film career was a success, he fell in love, and was soon married and the young couple lived a hip lavish lifestyle! Our gent began writing screenplays to expand his career to major pictures and one of those screenplays soon found interest and the couple moved to Los Angeles with financing for the film in place. Of course - As Los Angeles always moves you to the path you are supposed to be on...the financing fell through and difficult times arose for the young couple and their two young boys. Ever the Phoenix - The gent (with the prodding of his agent) gave up on film and entered the real estate field where he achieved great success as an Agent, then Estates Director, then Broker, continually building his career from Beverly Hills to Brentwood and then back to Beverly Hills where he recently retired after nearly 30 years as a mover and shaker in the always active L.A. Real Estate Markets!
Our client not only inherited amazing family treasures in arts and furnishings - but always had a keen eye for up and coming contemporary artists! Many of his extensive collections have been moved to the new home and others found a place with our gen's sons...but many others remain needing to find new owners! We know you will enjoy this exceptional sale!
Onto the details! We will be unpacking and adding items and pictures up until sale days!
