Martin Maier Camel Back
A rare find especially in the south. This is truly our Showroom piece. All original…We chose not to restore this in any way because of its original shape. Martin Maier established his trunk business in 1865 at the age of 25 in Detroit Mich. This was 2 years after joining the Union Army in St Louis and participating in the march to the Sea from Atlanta. Martin Maier was known for making much of his own MM hardware just as you will find on this trunk. Both leather handles have 68 stamped on them which is unusual, but possibly a patent date of 1868. It has a double lock patent Oct. 1871 is quite ornate. It also has some Charles Taylor #2 latches and hardware as well. The inside is equally pristine. All original lithographs with two hat boxes and center tray.

*Please note we can ship this item although it is marked pickup only, just know there will be additional costs.

37L x 22D x 30HBench Flat Top A unique trunk. Created for the laid-back office, beautiful and comfy. The outside has been totally redone to a gorgeous finish and rustic hardware.

The inside is open except for the cushion that has been custom fitted. Thanks to my friends at Made By Missy in Fayetteville, NC.

*Please note we can ship this item although it is marked pickup only, just know there will be additional costs.

34L x 21D x 24HChild’s Camel Back
One of our nicest Children’s trunks. Much like our larger Martin Maier…all original. The very first question you must ask yourself when considering restoration is…do I leave it original or do a total restoration? We only have two that we have not touched. This is a beautiful Child’s trunk for any home or showroom.

*Please note we can ship this item although it is marked pickup only, just know there will be additional costs.

14L x 9D x 10H1900's Monitor Trunk
This shape was also known as a Waterfall trunk because of its rounded front and back. It seems to have been mostly painted at one time or another. The handles are gone but has it’s original tray inside that folds out as you open the lid. The replacement key # is 022. Still a good size trunk for storing. Possibly early 1900s.

*Please note we can ship this item although it is marked pickup only, just know there will be additional costs.

25L x 21D x 24H1870's Camel Back Featuring Brass Star Lock
This is a beautiful stamped wooden Camel Back. It has a brass Star lock patent in March 1869 and a latch to the lock with patent dates from May 1854, Feb. 1867, May 1868, and Nov. 1870. We know that it was possibly built within 10 years of 1870. Hinges are not attached and no handles, but plenty of space inside this large trunk.

I have enjoyed it as my personal toolbox for many years.

It also has Charles Taylor #2 latches or bolts which date to March 31st, 1882. John H. Sessions produced these latches and at some point, gave or sold the patent to Charles Taylor.

This trunk is considered to be a Kidney trunk because of its shape. Some might also call it a 6 Ban Jenny Lind for the same reason with all brass buttons. A beautiful, stamped saddle leather with a Star lock from Star Lock Works in Philadelphia. They made a variety of nice brass trunk locks for trunk makers. They didn't actually make the trunks, but they made really nice trunk locks. They were founded in 1836 by Mr. Liebrich and originally the locks were marked with C. Liebrich, Phila. Then in 1869, he retired and two partners, Hillebrand and Wolf took over the company and called it Star Lock Works. They made trunk locks and stays, keys, padlocks, latches and springs." 35L x 21D x 28H1913 " Estate Of James S. Topham" Steamer Trunk
This could very well be a true steamer trunk because true steamers had to fit under the bunk of 18 inches. If you want to look up James S. Topham, you may find out that he was a trunk maker. For what it’s worth, you can see that this trunk says that it is the Estate of James S. Topham. I have not found any other Brass plaques with Estate written on it as well as the date and number of the trunk. It dates back to June 20, 1913. The specifications number looks to be 1167. It also has a brass Eagle lock from Terryville, Conn.

31L x 17D x 14H1870's Medium Camel Back Featuring Wooden Handles

A real history piece. This is an Abe Foote and Brothers trunk manufactured in Atlanta Ga. This trunk could date back within 12 or 15 years after Atlanta burned. It’s amazing what could be produced that soon after such a disaster. Much of the hinges and hardware looks to be from John Sessions, one of the most well-known trunk hardware manufacturers back then. A real piece of history.

This is our largest trunk, as far as being the longest one at 45 inches. It is canvas covered with two beautiful heavy duty Star locks with a Patent date of March 1869, and a single rare #4 Charles Taylor latch. The most room in a trunk you’ll find most anywhere.

*Please note we can ship this item although it is marked pickup only, just know there will be additional costs.

*Please note we can ship this item although it is marked pickup only, just know there will be additional costs.

30L x 18D x 21HSteamer Trunk Featuring J. H Sessions #2 Latches
This could have been a true steamer trunk because they had to slide under the 18-inch births.

It has J. H Sessions #2 latches and a very nice brass lock.

*Please note we can ship this item although it is marked pickup only, just know there will be additional costs.

30L x 19D x 22LEnglish Wardrobe Trunk
The most I could find on this trunk is that it is from England. It could be a small version of an American Wardrobe trunk. It is canvas covered and has leather corners and edging with brass rivets and stitching. A large leather Lock cover and brass lock and handle caps. It has three different size drawers that slide open with leather handles and brass handle clips. A real find for an Englishman.
