- Books are unfortunately in no particular order. There are groupings of related subjects, but look around and look close...there are most likely more on that subject throughout the library.
- I made a list of subjects that stood out: Art (all kinds), Architecture, Archeology, Lifestyle, World and Geographical, History, Science/Medical, Society, Philosophy, Religion, Music, Movie/Film, Baseball, World War II and Hitler, France and Paris, lots of books on Cuba, all sorts of novels, and so much more.
Mark your calendars for a wonderful estate sale Easter weekend as we liquidate the estate of the late Dr. Louis A. Balart. This is a not-to-miss sale!
Louis A. Balart MD, lover of wine, women, song and the written word, was a prominent gastroenterologist in New Orleans starting his career at the Browne-McHardy Clinic after escaping Castro's communist regime in Cuba in 1961. He was a true renaissance man, who enjoyed the arts, particularly music, writing, languages, carpentry, travel, and many other pursuits. He was an avid collector of books and wine and was a keen stereophile assembling an impressive library of recordings. Always perfectly attired, Dr. Balart was selected Man of Fashion in 1995. Throughout his 93 years he enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest!
