Big Easy is thrilled to offer an estate sale in the St. Charles Avenue home of Clyde “Rocky” Sorrell. Originally from Tacoma Park, Maryland, Rocky Sorrell visited New Orleans in 2005 for the first time and immediately fell in love with the city. Rocky purchased the home a month before Katrina, and after a major four-year restoration, Rocky was excited to open his home to family, friends and locals. New Orleans embraced Rocky and therefore he embraced the city and its’ people. He was a member of the New Orleans Historic Preservation Society, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and the WWII Museum, among other community involvements. He was an avid Saints fan and held season tickets each year. A Duke in the Knights of Babylon, Rocky was known for celebrating Carnival season in full Mardi Gras attire, seen dancing and celebrating in front of his home, and later deemed “King of the Avenue” by friends and locals.

Best known for its exquisite kitchen renovation, the home was featured in the Junior League of New Orleans' annual Kitchen Tour and Preservation Resource Center’s Holiday Tour.
